Unfortunate news from the CARS Tour race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Ryan Wilson has been transported to a nearby medical facility. Wilson was involved in a big wreck on Lap 56 and was transported to a local hospital following the incident.

Tonight is the season finale for the CARS Tour. Champions are being crowned tonight. It was not supposed to be the season finale, but a delayed date earlier this season put North Wilkesboro at the end of the calendar.

Multiple cars were involved in the wreck including Isabella Robusto, Brandon Pierce, and others. Amid the chaos and wreckage, Ryan Wilson was banged up pretty good.

Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut and Short Track Scene reported on Wilson being transported.

The CARS Tour puts on great races during the season. Short track racing does not get any better right now than what you see on a weekly basis in this series. Right now, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen is attempting to clinch the championship. He isn’t having an easy time.

For one reason or another, Butterbean has found himself a target tonight. Drivers are not giving the championship leader any breaks. He has been doored and hit and given issues throughout the first half of this race.

Meanwhile, Connor Hall is attempting to upset Butterbean. When this big wreck happened, it shrunk the field even more. That means fewer spots to fall for Butterbean and fewer points available for Hall to pick up. In other words, goodness for Queen in the No. 03 for Lee Pulliam.

Ryan Wilson out early at North Wilkesboro

Of course, everyone is worried about Ryan Wilson. Any time a driver has to be taken away from the track and to a hospital is never good news. Hopefully, it is out of an abundance of caution and Wilson is as fine as he can be after a big hit like he took.

Even in short track racing the hits are big. When you wreck a car, even at “low speeds” it is a serious thing. Wilson was involved in a violent hit and right now we will just have to wait and see what his injuries are or what they were suspected to be if he comes out of it uninjured.

While we wait for more word on Wilson, the race continues. Drivers are doing their best to stay in the race with damaged cars. Then there are the leaders who are navigating traffic and avoiding those cars with bear bond and tape all over them.

Ryan Wilson is out of the race and has been taken to a nearby medical facility. Let’s hope for a quick recovery for the driver. He has been involved in a fair share of hard hits and bad wrecks in the past but each one is unique and has dangers of its own.
