Miami has led the ACC in home runs for the 2023 campaign. They had six players hit double digit home runs this year.

The Hurricanes had a back-and-forth battle with the Duke Blue Devils in pool play on Friday. Miami drilled two home runs to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. First, junior C.J. Kayfus launched a solo shot. Then, two batters later, Yohandy Morales launched a solo shot to tie the game. Renzo Gonzalez slapped a single up the middle to put the ‘Canes up for good, 7-6. And then, closer Andrew Walters finished it off in the ninth inning as Miami won 7-6. He’s been one of the best closers in college baseball and showed why once again on Friday. It was his second save in two days for the ‘Canes.

Duke sophomore slugger Luke Storm belted two home runs in the losing effort. He’s one of the better power hitters in baseball. In 2022, he smashed 10 home runs, tying for the team lead as a freshman. He also had 13 doubles in ACC play.
