Walks discusses finalists

Simon Walker broke down each of his final six schools with On3.

Auburn: “Auburn is high in my recruitment because I see the vision that Coach Bruce Pearl has for me in their program. They’ve been recruiting me since my freshman year and I’ve been able to grow this relationship with them throughout the past couple of years.”

Clemson: “Clemson is a school I look into because of the fit I see myself having in their system and the recent success that Coach Brownell has had, which doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon. It is also obviously in a great conference and has a great fanbase.”

Virginia Tech: “Virginia Tech is a school that I’ve included in my top 6 because I also see the way they utilize players with my skillset and I can definitely see myself fitting there. It’s in a storied conference and Coach Young has had success there, as he’s been able to win the conference before.”

Butler: “Butler is also a school that I am interested in because of the conference and education. The Big East is one of the best conferences in the country and I’m able to play in a great atmosphere like Hinkle Fieldhouse while getting a great education. Thad Matta is also a proven coach who has nearly done it all as a Division 1 Coach.”

Vanderbilt: “I am interested in Vanderbilt because of them being in a high level conference, the SEC. Vanderbilt is also a school that offers an elite education and Coach Byington seems ready to lead the program to success.”

Iowa: “Iowa is of interest to me because of the fit I see myself having in their program. I’ve seen how Coach McCaffery uses players with similar play styles to me. They are also in a great conference like the B1G and play high level competition.”
