Steph Curry wears Keisei Tominaga’s ‘Sakura’ signature shoe in NBA Playoff win over Houston Rockets

Steph Curry wore Keisei Tominaga‘s “Sakura” signature shoe during the Golden State Warriors’ playoff win against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. The shoes may have helped Curry have a big night, as he scored 31 points and made five of his nine three-point attempts in the win.
Keisei Tominaga signed with the Curry Brand last year, making him the company’s first international athlete. He currently plays for the Noblesville Boom of the G League and has modeled his game after Steph Curry.
“Steph has always been one of my basketball heroes,” Tominaga said in a statement in June of last year. “I have worked hard to emulate his game in my own basketball career, so to be able to represent his brand and everything he stands for is a dream come true.”
“We are excited to have Keisei join the Curry Brand family as we continue to extend our mission internationally, Steph Curry said. “He has a dedication to the game and continues to be an inspiration for athletes across the globe. I love that we are growing this amazing roster of Curry Brand athletes, and Keisei along with our athletes are continuing to create an impact and changing the game of basketball.”

More on Steph Curry and Keisei Tominaga
Tominaga played at Nebraska and made a big impact on the Cornhuskers last year. During the 2023-24 season, Tominaga averaged a team-high 15.1 points while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from three. His play on the court led to him being named to the All-Big Ten Second Team by the coaches.
Curry loves what Tominaga brings to the table and wearing the “Sakura” shoes may have helped him lead the Warriors over the Houston Rockets. Curry is looking to win his fifth NBA title and first since 2022.
“He’s done it time and time again,” Warriors teammate Jimmy Butler III said postgame on Curry’s performance, per NBA.com. “It’s not just in a playoff game, since I’ve been here. The shots that he takes and makes are absolutely incredible. For him to know that ball is going in, and for everybody in the building, probably in the world, to know that the ball is going in, is incredible. I’m a fan as everyone else is and he just makes big shot after big shot and helps us build on these leads.”
