Aaron Rodgers showed off some swagger after his game-sealing touchdown run against the Chicago Bears. After bring back his discount double-check celebration, Rodgers talked the talk to the Chicago crowd.

According to Andrew Brandt, the exact quote is even spicier than what was rumored to be said.

“Am being told the accurate quote to the Bears fans was this: ‘I’ve owned you all my f-ing life! I own you, I still own you.’ #AaronRodgers,” tweeted Brandt. “Extra savage.”

Tom Brady, a fellow future Hall of Fame quarterback, had a witty response when asked of Rodgers trash talk, offering congratulations for his new stake in ownership.

“I was studying a little bit of the Bears and the Packers and watched a lot of that. That was another great game,” Brady said on NFL Radio. “And actually, before we get started, I wanted to say congrats to Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, I know he’s a great quarterback, but I guess he’s now a shareholder of the Bears. I saw a clip of him really enthusiastically telling the crowd how happy he is to own Soldier Field. That’s really great stuff. He owns the [Milwaukee] Bucks now, part-owner of Soldier Field, so he’s got a great career beyond football.”

Not everyone accepted Rodgers’ choice comments as willingly as Brady. Rodgers has received plenty of criticism from Bears fans and other fans across the league, and on Tuesday he addressed the negative feedback on The Pat McAfee Show.

“My teammates and organization really loved it. I think most Packers fans did as well,” Rodgers said. “Are we getting that soft as a society where we can’t have a back and forth now? I mean, somebody can pay for a ticket and say whatever the hell they want — which I think they should be able to; that’s fine — but the one time you say something back to them that gets caught on a hot mic, now it’s that I’ve disrespected an entire city and organization, and my own organization.”

Former Chicago Bear center Olin Kreutz was one of the many NFL figures to criticize Rodgers’ choice words. In an interview with The Score 670, the former Bear-turned-analyst summed up his feelings towards Rogers with this quote:

“I’d like to punch him in the face.”

Rodgers finished the game 17-of-23, with 195 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. He also added seven carries for 19 yards and one rushing touchdown, which ended up sealing the game.

In his career, Rodgers possesses a 22-5 record against the Bears. The statistics certainly back up Rodgers’ words.

Prior, Rodgers told reporters that he didn’t remember the words that came out of his mouth. He looked into the stands and saw a woman giving him an obscene gesture, and everything afterwards was a blur.

“I looked up in the stands and in the front row all I saw was a woman giving me the double bird,” Rodgers said per ESPN. “So I’m not sure exactly what came out of my mouth next.”

Green Bay, now 5-1, now sits alone atop the AFC North standings with the 3-3 Bears in second.

The Packers are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, currently on a five-game winning streak. They managed to turn things around quickly following a 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 and currently sit at 5-1.

Aaron Rodgers claimed the league’s MVP award during his 2020 campaign after throwing for a career-high 48 touchdowns. So far this season he has 12 passing scores, so he has a long way to go to surpass last year. Still, he remains as one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks and makes the Packers one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl out of the NFC.

They certainly have stiff competition in defending champion Tampa Bay, as well as explosive offenses in Dallas and Arizona. The Los Angeles Rams also present a threat thanks to new quarterback Matthew Stafford.

A matchup against Washington now awaits the Packers next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
