Tarkanian Classic: High School Division Day 2 Top Performers

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Tarkanian Classic brought over 100 teams from more than six different states, Canada, and Australia. The six-day event is broken into two three-day sessions. The first three days is for Prep Schools and the second three days are for traditional high schools.

On3’s Jamie Shaw was on hand for day two of the High School division of the Tarkanian Classic. Let’s break down the day’s top performers.

On3 MVP: Four-Star PG Jason Crowe (2026)

Jason Crowe stole the show on Day Two of the Tarkanian Classic High School Division. He exploded for 50 points, thirty-five of which came in the second half as he brought his Lynwood (CA) High team back from a 15-point deficit to get the win.

Crowe, a lefty point guard, has a tight and shifty handle. The opposing team did everything they could to trap him or pressure him off the bounce and they could not speed him up. Crowe was a one-man press break, consistently getting his team with positive numbers in the open floor and making a play. He has excellent feel and plays with great balance, able to shift directions at full speed. Crowe plays with a lot of confidence, despite, oftentimes, being the youngest player on the floor.

Crowe is the No. 9 player in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking.

2. SG Kaden House (2026)

Kaden House, the son of former NBA point guard Eddie House, is wired to score the basketball. He is listed at 6-foot-3, and he has solid length on his frame. What stands out about his game is he plays with constant movement off the ball. While he does not have top-of-the-line pop, he has fluidity and wiggle with the ball in his hands. He gets to his spots and has the feel to rise up and get a shot. House got hot early in the first half of his game and continued to go for a game-high 36 points in the win.

3. Three-Star SF Tyrone Riley (San Francisco)

Tyrone Riley passes the look test stepping on the floor. He carries a lengthy 6-foot-6 frame, with a lot of explosive pop. The San Francisco signee has a keen understanding of the game with a high basketball IQ. He finds his way into production a lot of times, being in the right place to make a play on the ball. He is more of a scorer than a shooter, he can make a jump shot and has a nice feel in the mid-range. Riley is at his best slashing to the rim, getting out in transition, and crashing the offensive glass. He finished this one with 25 points, 18 of which came in the second half of the Downey (CA) St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy win.

4. Five-Star Plus+ SF Bryson Tucker (unsigned 2024)

Watching Bryson Tucker play, you see that he plays with a mature pace. Blessed with a great frame, standing at a lengthy 6-foot-7, he has athletic explosion. Tucker has great in the mid-range, that is where he plays most comfortably. He uses footwork with counters and a high release on a jump shot with great lift. Tucker will need to smooth out his shot from three as it can get a flat, but he finishes at the rim and plays efficiently, able to get to his spots regularly. Tucker is the No. 12 player in the 2024 On3 150. He has taken official visits to Michigan State and Kansas. Kansas was in the gym watching this morning.

5. Three-Star SG Eric Freeny (UCLA)

Eric Freeny plays a tough game. His competitiveness is always on go as he attacks downhill in straight lines and looks for contact. Today he touched the paint often, while also knocking down four threes. His three-point form was balanced and confident. The UCLA signee finished with a game-high 29 points in the Corona (CA) Centennial win.

6. Four-Star C Xavion Staton (2025)

Xavion Staton’s defensive upside is so high and his production is rapidly increasing. Staton had multiple possessions today where he had multiple blocked shots in the same sequence around the basket. He sprints the floor hard and he wors to establish position on the block. He finished with ten points today, all of them came on explosive dunks. They did not keep stats, but he approached double figure rebounds and blocked shots again. He can open his hips and slide his feet, his movement capabilities as a lengthy 7-footer had Kansas and Colorado in the gym at 10:30 AM watching.

Other Standouts

Four-star SF Tajh Ariza (St. Bernard’s) has a great frame with good length. He was used as the primary initiator, and he played more aggressively in touching the paint and slashing toward the rim. Ariza is the son of former NBA Champion Trevor Ariza and is the No. 11 player in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. Ariza is at his best attacking the rim and playing as a secondary ball handler with some passing ability. He has a natural feel for the game.

Five-Star Plus+ F Carter Bryant (Arizona) is a physical presence. He has an excellent frame and is explosive and fluid. He has had a very good week on the defensive end of the floor, guarding the ball and acting as a weak-side shot blocker. Bryant scored the ball well in transition today and attacked the basket in the half-court. He finished with 13 points and approached double-figure rebounds.

Four-Star F Jaxon Johnson (Utah) is a utility forward, able to dribble, shoot, and pass from multiple levels on the floor. Johnson has good size, standing 6-foot-8, and pushing 6-foot-9. He is a solid rebounder and he understands team defense. Johnson can knock down shots with range and he moves the ball well. You can fit him into a lot of different situations on the floor, an intriguing connector. He finished with a team-high 19 points.

Four-Star C Tee Bartlett (2025) is a physical presence in the paint. He is very skilled, able to attack a defense from multiple levels on the floor. Bartlett is a good passer and plays with patience. He scored from the block, stretch to the mid-range in the pick-and-pop situations and he kncoked down a trail three from the otp of the key. As he contineus to get his stamina right, there is a lot to like with how he goes about his business on the floor.

PF Michael Simcoe (2025) continued his hot play from Monday night. In fact, Kansas swung by the gym to watch him play today. Simcoe plays hard, and that is probably the best piece of his game. He has some skill and can knock down a spot three. He is a solid athlete, but his motor does not stop while he is in the game.

CG Kalek House (2026) is the twin brother of Kaden House, and he plays a nice complimentary game to his brother. Kalek House showed to be confident on the ball and played good defense. He knocked down a handful of threes. Kalek is a good athlete and plays with solid instincts. He had 27 points in the win.

SG Anthony Baston (Rice) is an explosive athlete, and that is the takeaway from watching him play. However, diving into his game a little more you see he is a solid processor with passing acumen. Baston is a tough defender, able to guard multiple positions. He finished with 23 points, knocking down two threes in the win.

Four-Star Pharoah Compton (San Digo State) is a tough-minded post player. He plays aggressively and explosively. He might not fill the scoring column in the stat sheet, but his rebounding and defense do not go unnoticed.
