Taylor Lewan carted off with injury in Monday Night Football matchup
Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan was carted off with a knee injury Monday night against Buffalo and is questionable to return, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Lewan left the game after going down with just under nine minutes to go in the first quarter. He remained on the ground for several moments before gingerly walking off the field with help from trainers.
A three-time Pro Bowler, Lewan was selected 11th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Michigan by the Titans. He has spent his entire nine-year career as a starter in Tennessee and helped the team to playoff appearances in each of the past three seasons.
Lewan was part of an offensive line that helped pave the way for running back Derrick Henry to lead the NFL in rushing during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Before that, he helped DeMarco Murray finish as the AFC’s leading rusher in 2016, the first of Lewan’s three Pro Bowl seasons.
This is not the first injury scare for Lewan, who hasn’t played a full season since 2017. One of the four games he missed last season came after a scary concussion in the Week 6 game against the Bills.

At Michigan, Lewan was a four-year starter who helped the Wolverines to a Sugar Bowl victory in 2011. He earned the Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year award two years straight in 2012 and 2013, while also being named a first-team All-American in 2012.
The Titans ended up tying the game on a touchdown run from Henry just eight plays after Taylor Lewan left with the injury. Henry ran behind backup left tackle Dennis Daley, who replaced Lewan.
Tennessee gave up a sack on the next drive after Lewan’s exit. The Titans totaled just 90 total yards in the first half, including only 18 yards rushing. Heading into the locker room, Buffalo led 17-7.
