Report: Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) likely out for remainder of season
The Tennessee Titans received a tough update on the health of their quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who may be out for the rest of the season. Tannehill suffered the injury while being tackled during a scramble, where his ankle was pinned underneath the tackler at an awkward angle. Tannehill immediately grabbed at his ankle in pain on the field, and remained on his back for some time in obvious discomfort.

Eventually, Tannehill was carted off the field for further evaluation. Although Tannehill walked off the field and into the injury tent on the sideline under his own power, the injury cart took him off the field after his injury evaluation ended with his right cleat and sock fully removed.

Now, it appears that the injury he sustained will require season-ending surgery.
“The Tennessee Titans will ‘very likely’ be without starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill for the remainder of the season due to a right ankle injury that is likely to require surgery,” explained ESPN’s Turron Davenport on Wednesday.
Despite leaving the field with his injury, Tannehill re-entered the game with his ankle fully taped up and continued to lead the Tennessee offense on Sunday. Although he appeared to be battling the injury throughout the game, he finished a game-tying drive late with a gutsy quarterback run into the end zone. Unfortunately, the game still ended with a loss after the Chargers got into field goal range with time expiring.
