Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks was taken off the board at No. 18 in the 2022 NFL Draft, being the last of six wide receivers to be taken in the first round. The Tennessee Titans were the team to call his name, trading with the Philadelphia Eagles in order to do so.

Burks was asked about his emotions when he heard NFL commissioner Roger Goodell call his name in Las Vegas. The wide receiver said there aren’t many words to describe the feeling before reaffirming he is going to work his hardest to be a star for the Titans.

“I would really say words can’t explain it,” Burks said. “Just grateful that the guys believed in me and I am going to do whatever they set for me to do and just keep chasing my dreams.”

Burks is going to be expected to replace A.J. Brown as the focal point in the passing game after the two were practically traded for each other. While the name of the game for Tennessee may be running with the ball via Derrick Henry, Tannehill has still proven to be a top quarterback in the league.

A sizeable chunk of yards will have to be replaced for the trade to end up being worth it. Last season Brown went for 869 yards and five touchdowns on 63 receptions. Burks has more than enough capability to do so, even as a young rookie.

Treylon Burks, Mike Vrabel plan possible boar hunting trip

With Burks being from the state of Arkansas, it’s fitting that his hobby is boar hunting. It’s something Burks thinks translates to football, saying when he is out there chasing boars, he has to be “fearless.”

Burks expanded on the hobby during his introductory press conference, continuing to explain what he loves about boar hunting. He said it’s been a few months since getting out there but just loves spending time with his family and friends.

“Last time I have been was in November but it’s just a hobby that I like doing,” Burks said. “Being with my friends and family, just having a good time.”

The hobby may have caught the attention of his new head coach Mike Vrabel as well. The two schemed out a potential trip together at the podium, as Vrabel said he and Burks have already talked about possibly getting out there.

“I would, I would,” Vrabel said. “I wouldn’t mind. We talked about it and we had a great visit.”
