New Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks is from the state of Arkansas so it’s fitting that his hobby is boar hunting. It’s something Burks thinks translates to football, saying when he is out there chasing boars, he has to be “fearless.”

Burks expanded on the hobby during his introductory press conference, continuing to explain what he loves about boar hunting. He said it’s been a few months since getting out there but just loves spending time with his family and friends.

“Last time I have been was in November but it’s just a hobby that I like doing,” Burks said. “Being with my friends and family, just having a good time.”

The hobby may have caught the attention of his new head coach Mike Vrabel as well. The two schemed out a potential trip together at the podium, as Vrabel said he and Burks have already talked about possibly getting out there.

“I would, I would,” Vrabel said. “I wouldn’t mind. We talked about it and we had a great visit.”

Vrabel went on to discuss how that conversation led to a great in-person visit after a not-so-good one at the NFL Scouting Combine. Burks impressed enough while in Nashville for the Titans to trade away A.J. Brown in order to select him at No. 18 overall.

“Admittingly, I think this is a thing that John and I was impressed about,” Vrabel said. “It wasn’t very good in Indianapolis. It’s tough, it’s 18 minutes. He’s scrambling, there wasn’t much there and he came back and he’s like ‘I’m really glad I got an opportunity to do this again to spend a day at this organization. For you guys to try to get to know who I am and do more than an 18-minute process or interview.’ So, that was really cool and that was something that we’ve talked about in the past and through the draft process.”

Burks is now expected to play a huge role in Tennessee’s offense, being one of the top playmakers. The do-it-all wide receiver out of Arkansas has been compared to Deebo Samuel and how the San Francisco 49ers used him down the stretch last season. Once Vrabel has the opportunity to scheme some things with offensive coordinator Todd Downing, it could be special.

But there is still a whole summer for the two to discuss football matters. Until rookie minicamp begins, Burks and Vrabel can possibly go out to Burks’ home state and go boar hunting.
