Jalin Hyatt shut down at NFL Combine following hamstring tightness
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is done at the 2023 NFL Combine. Some tightness in his hamstring during positional work is the concern, with Hyatt not wanting to risk anything further.
“#Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt, who ran a 4.40 40, felt tightness in hamstring doing position work, I’m told,” Rapoport said. “He shut it down today out of caution and will be ready for his Pro Day on March 30th.”
Hyatt was off to a good start in Indianapolis as Rapoport mentioned, running a 4.44 in the 40-yard dash. Workouts down on the field were only helping his draft stock as well, impressing in front of a ton of coaches, scouts, and general managers.
As most did in Knoxville, Hyatt broke out during the 2022 season alongside quarterback Hendon Hooker. He was able to haul in 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns on 67 receptions while guiding the Vols to a 10-win season. Hyatt added some individual hardware to his cabinet as well, winning the Biletnikoff Award.
Injuries are never a positive sign, even when it’s all precautionary. However, nothing seems too serious with Hyatt and he should be fine to workout at Tennessee’s Pro Day later in the month.
