The Wolfacker Show: NC State football recruiting update
The month of June has become the most important in the calendar year for NC State football recruiting. This year has been no exception.
During the month, four players joined the NC State football recruiting class of 2024, and another jumpstarted the 2025 class. Furthermore, up to a half dozen other players officially visited in June and could be nearing decisions over the next couple of weeks.
With that in mind, TheWolfpacker.com duo of Matt Carter and Ethan McDowell got together for the latest edition of The Wolfpacker Show to provide some updates and thoughts from the recruiting trail for NC State.
That included first-hand observations of several of the commitments in June, including class of 2025 quarterback Will Wilson from Columbia (S.C.) Richland Northeast High. Both Carter and McDowell agreed after watching Wilson perform that he has a combination of impressive arm strength and athleticism.
The two also share their thoughts on a pair of local commits that earned offers from NC State’s camp — running back Isiah Jones from Rolesville High and linebacker Zane Williams from Wake Forest High.
Among the other topics discussed during The Wolfpacker Show:
• Why the focal points for the next month turns almost entirely towards two position groups. Find out what those are and why one is looking promising and the other may be a more challenging path.

• Why has recruiting wide receivers in the past few recruiting cycles proven to be an issue for NC State? Is it systematic issues that need to be addressed, or is the Wolfpack proving to be the victim of bad luck? Is it both?
McDowell and Carter explore that question, and how looking at each receiver’s recruitment on an individual basis may help provide some of those answers.
• A quick synopsis of the calendar ahead, highlighted for NC State football recruiting fans by the Alpha Wolf Showcase in July and then the start of fall camp not long afterward.
• The podcast ends with Carter asking McDowell how many players does he see being in the NC State class by July 15. McDowell does the math and comes up with a range, and for good measure, Carter adds his prediction, too.
