Three-star S Marcus Wimberly schedules six spring visits
Three-star 2025 safety Marcus Wimberly had a stellar junior season for Bauxite (Ark.) playing multiple positions on both sides of the ball eventually culminating in an Arkansas state title.
After coaches around the country made their way to Bauxite High last month, Wimberly saw his offer sheet balloon. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder getting courted as a safety picked up new offers from Ole Miss and Oklahoma, and squeezed in a visit to Norman for the Sooners’ elite junior day earlier this month.
Now, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 39-ranked safety in the 2025 class has six visits locked in for the rest of the spring, including visits back to Arkansas and to Oklahoma over the next two months.
Wimberly is set to visit Arkansas on March 8. The Natural State’s No. 6-rated prospect was once committed to Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks before reopening his recruitment in December shortly after a visit to Ann Arbor.
Wimberly will head to SMU (March 9) and to Memphis (March 19). The three-star safety will make his first visit to Ole Miss (March 21) and then to Alabama (March 23). He’ll cap the spring with a visit back to Oklahoma on April 9 during spring football practices.

After visiting Oklahoma earlier this month, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine shifted to favor the Sooners after previously leaning toward Michigan.
“It was absolutely outstanding. The team is truly a family. The S.O.U.L mission stuff is so awesome. They really want to yes make you a better football player, but really a better man, son, husband, etc. [I’m] just extremely thankful for that awesome opportunity,” Wimberly told On3’s Sooner Scoop after the visit.
“The coaches and true family feel were really the two things that really stood out to me. It was great to be in such a great environment.”
Wimberly is expected to have a decision in place before the end of the off-season. Wimberly’s senior year at Bauxite High kicks off in August.
