The old guard against the young phenoms. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers battling against Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. The NFC looking for supremacy over the AFC. No, I’m not talking about the Super Bowl — Capital One’s The Match is returning with four superstar quarterbacks hitting the golf course once again in 2022.

On Monday, Brady revealed what his eye emoji was all about, breaking the news that Rodgers will team with the Buccaneers quarterback in a golf showdown against Mahomes and Allen.

“We tried to make this a tag team cage match but the lawyers said our contracts wouldn’t allow it,” tweeted Brady. “#CapitalOnesTheMatch is back, June 1st. Let’s kick their ass @AaronRodgers12 | @JoshAllenQB @PatrickMahomes.”

It won’t be the first time Brady or Rodgers participate in the event. Brady was a part of the second iteration of the event, where the team of the Buccaneers quarterback and professional golfer Phil Mickelson faced off against Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods. Brady and Mickelson emerged victorious, as rain fell for almost the entirety of the event.

Then, Rodgers joined the fold for the fourth iteration, as Brady and Mickelson returned as a duo to take on the Packers quarterback and professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau. Alas, Rodgers got revenge on Brady for his NFC Championship Game loss to the Buccaneers, walking away victorious.

Now, the quarterbacks have done away with the professionals, and added two hot-shot quarterbacks to the mix. Instead of foes, Brady and Rodgers will team up, while Mahomes and Allen look to upset the apple cart.

For Mahomes, it may be personal — he never got his revenge on Brady and the Buccaneers for making Super Bowl LV miserable for his Chiefs. The former Texas Tech star is looking forward to it, tweeting, “This should be fun.”

While it may not be the best golf the world will ever see, it could be the most entertaining. Capital One’s The Match between Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes will take place on June 1st at The Wynn Las Vegas golf course.
