LOOK: Tom Brady contributes major donation to Damar Hamlin charity amid massive fan support

NFL superstar Tom Brady has joined the massive outpouring of fan support for Damar Hamlin‘s charity, contributing a large donation himself. Beginning with roughly $10,000 in donations ahead of Monday Night Football, Hamlin’s charity fundraiser received immense support from fans around the football world and ballooned to over $1 million by midnight.

As of 5:30 E.T. on Tuesday, the total amount donated rose to $4,890,060. As players and fans continued to share the link to Hamlin’s GoFundMe throughout the day, Brady’s name appeared on the list of top donors for the cause with a $10,000 donation of his own.

Tom Brady joins massive support for Damar Hamlin’s charity

Hamlin began The Chasing M’s Foundation before he even took an NFL snap, with the intent to create an impact on his community as he reached the professional level. The former Pitt star shared a personal message on his listing online for their first donation drive — thanking people for supporting him even years before his horrific injury on Monday.

“As I embark on my journey to the NFL, I will never forget where I come from and I am committed to using my platform to positively impact the community that raised me.  I created The Chasing M’s Foundation as a vehicle that will allow me to deliver that impact, and the first program is the 2020 Community Toy Drive,” read Hamlin’s message.

“This campaign gives you the opportunity to contribute to our first initiative and positively impact children who have been hardest hit by the pandemic.  100% of the funds raised will go toward the purchase of toys for kids in need.

“Thank you so much for supporting me on and off the field.  I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with you to help make the holiday season a little brighter for the kids in our community.”

One of the most striking things to see on Hamlin’s charity donations is that they were closing in on $5 million with the largest single donation being just $20,000 — highlighting just how many people were contributing to Hamlin’s personal cause with the volume of donors.
