The high school football season is well underway, and top recruits around the country have been putting on stellar performances on the gridiron. Many of the best offensive tackles in the 2024 cycle have already made their college decisions.

Of the top pass protectors in the country, two of the top 10 have yet to announce their commitments. Brandon Baker will choose between Nebraska, Oregon, Ohio State and Texas on Sunday — while Jordan Seaton’s recruitment could go on for some time.

Let’s assess the top offensive tackle prospects in the senior class:

1. Jordan Seaton

School: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
On3 Ranking: No. 7
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Ohio State 56.3%, Alabama 19.9%, Florida 9.6%, Oklahoma 2.3%
Scouting Summary: Jordan Seaton is a polished offensive tackle who is one of the more battle-tested prospects at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured at over 6-foot-5, 295 pounds prior to his senior season. Has a big frame and plus length for the position with arm length over 34 inches and a verified 10.75-inch hand. Dropped considerable weight as a junior after previously weighing over 330 pounds. Technically sound and well-rounded from a skill perspective. Looks ahead of the curve in pass protection. Flashes good reactive quickness.

“…Understands pass rush plans and works to neutralize rushers. Uses his redirect skills to mirror and quick, strong hands to neutralize at the point of attack. Drops his weight and anchors on contact. Also show some physicality and nastiness as a run blocker. Looks to move much better as a junior with the weight loss. Lined up at left tackle for St. John’s College and faced top competition on a weekly basis. Transferred to IMG Academy for his senior season. Does not have positive athletic markers other than film. Can also continue to improve his ankle flexion. Overall polish and experience against top competition makes him one of the more ready-to-play offensive linemen in the cycle.”

2. Josiah Thompson — South Carolina commit

School: Dillon (S.C.)
On3 Ranking: No. 9
Scouting Summary: Josiah Thompson is a physically gifted offensive tackle prospect with plus length and reactive movement skills. Measured in at around 6-foot-6, 275 pounds prior to his junior season. Has plus length and a big frame to continue adding weight. A twitchy mover for the position. Flexible athlete who plays low and with good pad level. Gets underneath the pads of opposing defensive linemen. Generates a push as a run blocker. Has some of the better reactive quickness among offensive tackles in the 2024 cycle. Will need to develop his pass set technique, but has the natural tools to be a top pass protector, likely as a left tackle. Has a developmental frame, but may need time in the weight room to add strength and mass. A high-upside prospect who projects as one of the top offensive tackles in the cycle pending further development.”

3. Weston Davis — Texas A&M commit

School: Beaumont (Texas) United
On3 Ranking: No. 18
Scouting Summary: Weston Davis is a light-footed, flexible offensive tackle with one of the higher developmental upsides among offensive linemen in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over to 6-foot-5, and north of 280 pounds in the spring prior to his senior year. Has plus length for the position with arms that have measured over 35-inches. Was a basketball-first athlete prior to taking up football in high school. Still relatively new to the game, but has shown considerable upside.

“…Has high-end movement skills. Easily works to the second level as a run blocker and has burst and bounce in his movements. Shows budding physicality as a run blocker and works to finish blocks. Has the natural skill set to develop into a gifted pass protector. Will need time to gain strength and mass along with honing his technique. Should benefit from a redshirt year and time in a college strength program. Doubles as a contributor on Beaumont United’s nationally-ranked basketball team.”

4. Guerby Lambert — Notre Dame commit

School: West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial
On3 Ranking: No. 28
Scouting Summary: Guerby Lambert is a toolsy offensive tackle with a high-end combination of size and movement skills. Measured at around 6-foot-6, 290 pounds with a 34-inch arm prior to his senior season. Has worked primarily as a right tackle while playing for one of the better high school programs in Massachusetts. Plays with outstanding bend and flexibility. Has a flat back in his stance and drives off the ball low to create a leverage advantage against smaller defensive linemen.

“…Uses his long arms to control defenders at the point of attack. Shows encouraging reactive quickness in his pass set. Has added functional play strength over the past year, but can continue improving in that regard. Will need to hone his pass-blocking technique, but has the movement skills and physical dimensions to be a strong pass protector with coaching and development. Also participates in track with solid throws in the shot put, marked by a personal best toss of 45-9 feet.”

5. Ellis Davis — Texas Tech commit

School: Prosper (Texas)
On3 Ranking: No. 34
Scouting Summary: Ellis Davis is a highly-skilled, athletic offensive tackle with a developmental body type and considerable ceiling as a prospect. Measured in at over 6-foot-6, 275 pounds prior to his senior season. Has plus length and the frame to add mass with a 33.5-inch arm and 10-inch hand. Primarily lines up at right tackle for his high school, but has also seenn time on the left side. A light-footed, flexible athlete. Highly functional mover. Plays with a flat back and gets underneath much shorter defensive linemen. Flashes a complete skill set and some of the more refined technical ability among 2024 offensive line prospects. Shows light feet with the lateral agility to mirror and redirect in pass protection. Uses his feet and length to neutralize pass rushers.

“…Plays with a great base and balance, particularly for a relatively lighter offensive line prospect (as a junior). Drops his weight to anchor on contact. Shows some dominant tendencies as a run blocker, notably at the second level. Climbs and swallows up linebackers. Understands hand placement and angles. Has a physical edge to his game and works to finish blocks. The natural power and pop along with functional strength and balance is highly encouraging for an offensive tackle with a developmental body type. Faces strong competition. Does not have as many verified athletic markers as some other top offensive line prospects. Has the upside to develop into one of the top offensive tackles in the cycle with further physical progression and added mass once he’s in a college strength program.”

6. Garrett Sexton — Penn State commit

School: Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead
On3 Ranking: No. 46
Scouting Summary: Garrett Sexton is a developmental offensive tackle prospect with ideal measurables and athleticism that give him one of the higher upsides at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over 6-foot-6, and north of 260 pounds prior to his senior season. Owns a very large frame with plus length – hands over 10.5 inches and 34.5-inch arms. Added close to 40 pounds between his junior and senior seasons. Began his high school career at quarterback before transitioning to offensive line just weeks before his junior season. Lined up at left tackle as a junior. Moves better than most of his high-touted peers. Shows high-level reactive quickness and explosion when moving to the second level. Has upper body and overall play strength that outpaces his lighter weight.

“…Physical and plays with a nasty edge. Tosses around defensive linemen. Plays with natural bend and leverage. Gets underneath defenders and uses his core strength to drive them upward. His substantial length paired with heavy hands shows up at the point of attack. Also plays high school basketball, where he doubles as a rim protector, swatting away shot attempts. Will need to continue learning the intricacies of offensive line technique, given his considerable lack of experience at the position. Will also need time to continue adding strength and mass once in a college program. Has considerable potential for upward trajectory as a prospect given his physical traits and capacity as a quick learner at the position.”

7. Brandon Baker

Brandon Baker - On3 NIL Elite Series
(On3)

School: Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
On3 Ranking: No. 49
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Texas 83.5%, Ohio State 10.9%
Scouting Summary: “Playing at Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei, Brandon Baker has faced some of the stiffest high school competition in the country. So, it speaks volumes that he’s been dominant against the opposition and racked up honor after honor. Baker first emerged as a sophomore, earning Max Preps Sophomore All-America honors.

“…Baker then took his game to another level in 2022, earning first-team all-county honors from the Orange County Register and Max Preps second-team All-America recognition. Baker credits legendary coach and recently retired Bruce Rollinson for a lot of his development. “He’s shown me that discipline is the major key to success,” Baker told USA Today. “He’s shown that it’s a strict process to get to the top. It’s helped me be able to live my childhood dream of playing football at the highest levels.”

8. Jonathan Daniels — Florida State commit

School: Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest
On3 Ranking: No. 54
Scouting Summary: Jonathan Daniels is a physically-gifted blocker with a big frame and some of the best athleticism among 2024 offensive linemen. Measured around 6-foot-4.5, 285 pounds. Has plus length for the position with verified 34.5-inch arms to go with 11-inch hands. Pairs that big, projectable frame with outstanding athleticism. Can really run in the combine setting. Has some of the best change of direction marks of all 2024 offensive line prospects. Plays both offensive and defensive line for his high school and was more of a defender to start his high school career.

“…Primarily plays right tackle for his high school. Has a flat back and natural bend in his stance. Flies off the snap with his movement skills immediately jumping out. Easily gets to the second level. Capable of moving bodies in the run game when his technique is on point. Has all of the tools to be a top pass protector but is undeveloped technically. Needs to improve his balance and base along with hand placement. Older for the class, turning 19 years-old in January of his senior year.”

9. Kevin Heywood — Wisconsin commit

School: Royersford (Pa.) Pope John Paul II
On3 Ranking: No. 83
Scouting Summary: Kevin Heywood is a Jumbo athlete with the stature and movement skills that point to upside as an offensive tackle prospect. Measured over 6-foot-7 and around 280 pounds prior to his senior season. Touts a 33.5-inch arm and hand size close to 10 inches. Carries his size very well and looks to have substantial room to add mass. Lines up at both offensive tackle spots for his high school in addition to defensive line. Was primarily a defensive lineman earlier in his career.

“…Combination of massive stature and plus movement skills jumps off the screen. Moves like a jumbo tight end. A smooth, fluid mover. Shows good reactive quickness as a pass protector. Moves to the second level with relative ease. Shows some functional strength. Plays with a physical edge and works to finish blocks. Also flashes his athleticism and conditioning while doubling as a defensive lineman. Has a high-hipped build and will need to be cognizant to continue improving his pad level. Does not have some of the verified athleticism and multi-sport bona fides of some fellow touted offensive tackle prospects.”

10. Ethan Calloway — LSU commit

School: Mooresville (N.C.) Lake Norman
On3 Ranking: No. 87
Scouting Summary: Ethan Calloway is a massive offensive tackle with translatable size, length and movement skills. Measured at 6-foot-7, 300 pounds in the off-season prior to his senior season. Has a big frame with plus length for the position. Has measured with a 34.25-inch arm and a 10.5-inch hand. A flexible athlete at his stature. Plays with good bend and leverage. Has a flat back in his stance. A people mover in the run game. Leans on defensive linemen and creates a push. Moves well at his size. Shows good reactive quickness in his pass set. Lacks the athletic markers of many other blue-chip offensive linemen and may not have as much room for growth given his ready-made size. Will need to continue honing his technical skills including pass set technique and hand placement.”
