Top-10 sophomore Jamier Jones talks early recruitment, Houston offer
Jamier Jones has already built a name for himself in the recruiting ranks (No. 10 overall in 2025) but his recruitment is just beginning. The 6-foot-6, 180-pound small forward made the move to powerhouse IMG Academy for his sophomore year and it’s already paying dividends. The Sarasota native recently picked up his first offer from Houston.
“It’s definitely a big one,” Jones said. “I haven’t watched them in person yet but I’ve been watching them on TV and stuff like that. It’s exciting to get an offer from a top team like that.”
Jones said he’d also like to visit Houston, although one hasn’t been formally scheduled. Along with an offer from the ‘Cougs, the elite 2025 prospect has also garnered interest from Arkansas, Florida, Texas Tech, among others.
“A lot of the schools I’m talking to want to see me be a three-level scorer,” Jones said. “Not just driving and getting past people, but they want to see my shot, my IQ, stuff like that.”
