Trevor Lawrence sends message to Jaguars fans about future of team
Trevor Lawrence penned a letter to Jacksonville Jaguars fans to discuss the future of the franchise. In just his second season, Lawrence led the Jaguars to an AFC South title and the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Although the magical season ended there, Lawrence said the future was bright in Duval County. Lawrence looked like the typical No. 1 overall pick from 2021 under head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson took over for Urban Meyer and turned the whole franchise around in one season.
With the loss to the Chiefs and the Jaguars falling short of the Super Bowl, Lawrence said it’ll be used as fuel for 2023.
“And I know a lot of people probably thought we were just happy to be there against K.C., but if you think that, then you don’t know this group,” Lawrence wrote for The Players Tribune. “We had a real chance to win that game, and we didn’t, and I’m still angry about it. We all are. And I like that. I like how — for all the talk about how we’re this young team with a bright future (and I believe we are) — the main thing guys were focused on after that game was we were right there.
“We were that team. So we’re going to let ourselves be mad. And we’re going to use it as fuel to get better for next year.”

Trevor Lawrence gives Jaguars fans strong message
Lawrence vastly improved his numbers and also led a 27-point comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC Wild Card round. He finished the regular season with 4,113 yards, 25 touchdowns, eight interceptions and a 66.3% completion percentage.
“One of the things I remember from last season is thinking, How will we ever get guys to want to stay here,” Lawrence wrote. “Or even come here? It’s only a year ago that I was worried about that. And now what I hear is guys talking about how this is a family. I hear guys talking like they know this is one of the best organizations in football, and they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
“Like we’re building something here for the long haul. And stuff like that, man…. It feels good. It makes me really proud to be a Jaguar.”
As of now, it looks like the Jaguars are the team to beat in the AFC South. Year 3 could be the biggest leap for Lawrence and company. That could mean quite a deep playoff run.
