Tua Tagovailoa leads NFL in Pro Bowl voting
With five weeks left in the NFL season, voting for awards and recognitions has started to be considered or has full-on started already. That includes the always contentious Pro Bowl. The fan-driven event is always a good indication of the league’s most popular players and, as of now, the voting leader says a lot about this breakout player.
Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa is the current leader in Pro Bowl voting with 138,390 votes. He joins four other superstars in Justin Jefferson, Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce in the Top-5, which only further highlights his rise in the 2022 season.
- Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa: 138,390
- Vikings WR Justin Jefferson: 137,826
- Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes: 133,607
- Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill: 132,100
- Chiefs TE Travis Kelce: 131,378
Tagovailoa is 13th in the NFL with 2,859 yards in 10 games this season. He’s also Top-10 in the league in touchdowns (21), fewest interceptions (5), and QBR (77.4). His breakout season could be even better had he not missed two games against the Jets and Vikings while in concussion protocol. However, Tagovailoa is making the most of his third year in the pros and people are taking notice.

It won’t be the same event, though, when Tagovailoa makes the cut as a first-time Pro Bowler. This year’s event will be the first of the new format. They will play seven-on-seven flag football while continuing the skills competitions. The Pro Bowl is scheduled for February 5th in Las Vegas with the Manning brothers coaching the rosters.
Tagovailoa will likely be hoping for even better accolades come the season’s end after the campaign he has had. Still, after being a player that everyone hotly disputed over his first two seasons, fan love like this should show both how far he has come and how bright his future can be in the NFL.
