Ohio State defensive lineman Tyleik Williams missed the team’s game against Marshall over the weekend, with an injury preventing him from suiting up for the contest.

Coach Ryan Day had ruled Williams day-to-day when he met with the media on Tuesday, but the prognosis seemed improved on Wednesday.

Tyleik Williams was able to practice with the team in the middle of the week.

“Yeah he did, he practiced today and did OK,” Day said. “So I’ll talk to (athletic trainer) Shaun (Barnhouse) here and see how he does in the morning, but he was out there today, which was great to see. He had a good day.”

Williams has nine tackles this year and is in a tie for the season-lead in sacks on their defense at 1.5 along with JT Tuimoloau. That included his outing in the season opener where he had seven tackles and a sack against Akron.

In his four-year collegiate career in Columbus, Tyleik Williams has posted 99 tackles, 22 being for loss, and 10.5 sacks. He also has nine deflections with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery that went for a touchdown.
