Late arrival for Jacoby Mathews
2 p.m. – Four-star safety Jacoby Mathews of Ponchatoula, La., will not be at practice on Wednesday evening, Hamilton reports.
Mathews is scheduled to arrive in Orlando for the Under Armour Game Wednesday evening. He should be good to go for the rest of the week of practices and the game, Hamilton reported.
Mathews’ recruitment will be one to watch over the next month. The nation’s top safety was once committed to LSU, and Brian Kelly has made an impression on the in-state star. But Corey Raymond, who recruited him at LSU, is now with Florida, and the Gators have earned an official visit with Mathews in January.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lists Texas A&M with a 67.8% chance of landing Mathews.
Texas teammates won’t play in Under Armour Game
11:45 a.m. – Sources told Hamilton that Garland, Texas, teammates receiver Chace Biddle and safety Jordan Hudson will not be participating in the Under Armour All-America Game.
Hudson ranks as the No. 106 player country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He signed with TCU during the early signing period after flipping his commitment from SMU.
