Under Armour Los Angeles Camp: Top Performers

Cody Bby:Cody Bellaire03/24/24

Dozens of the top prospects in and around the state of California made their way to Los Angeles to participate in the next camp of the Under Armour Next Series — the sixth event of the year. After stops in Orlando, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas and Houston, it made its way to the Golden State for the first time. The event featured a number of of blue-chip prospects from the 2025, 2026 and 2027 cycles.

On3 was on hand to take in the action. Here are the top performers from the day, headlined by a rising local defensive back.

On3 MVP: CB Trestin Castro

Under Armour LA always has one of the deepest rosters on the UA Camp Series and Sunday’s camp did not disappoint at the skill positions in particular. The defensive back group was as talented as any group we have seen thus far on the camp tour and Trestin Castro put together as dominant of a showing as we’ve seen this spring. The 2025 corner out of Upland (CA) was nearly flawless during the 1-on-1 portion of the practice. At 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, Castro was able to reroute receivers at the line of scrimmage with his tremendous length and technique. He was constantly in phase with receivers and got a hand on the football nearly every rep. He has the rare skill of running the receivers routes for them as a defender and is able to turn his head and locate the football at the precise moment in order to separate pass catchers from the football. Not to mention, he had the long speed to run with some of the fastest receivers at the event. He was a blanket during the 1-on-1 period and extremely sound, balanced and twitchy during individual drills as well. Castro put on as good of a defensive back workout as you possibly could and rightfully deserved On3’s MVP for Sunday’s camp.

2. EDGE Epi Sitanilei

In a camp loaded with great athletes, some of the workouts and drill work goes unnoticed along the trenches. But arguably the most athletic performance of the day belonged to 2025 EDGE Epi Sitanilei. At 6-foot-5, 215-plus pounds, he was eye-poppingly smooth and juiced up during individual drills and the 1-on-1 period. His body control and balance for his stature is exactly how you would draw it up for the EDGE position. During 1-on-1’s he also flashed his absurd get off and burst off the line of scrimmage putting offensive linemen on skates all morning long. His twitch and suddenness were on full display during his pass rushes and he proved that he was one of the most electric pass rushers coming off the edge in the entire country. He’s only going to get better as he continues to get stronger and add mass to his frame. His best ball is ahead of him and he will be a monster at the next level.

3. WR Chris Henry Jr. — Ohio State commit (2026)

It is no mystery that Chris Henry came into today’s UA camp with lofty expectations and it’s safe to say he definitely met those expectations on Sunday afternoon. The long, athletic pass catcher put together a teach tape for wide receivers during the individual period of practice. He is so clean, smooth and polished when it comes to getting in and out of his breaks at the top of his routes and at the catch point. The way he attacks the football and plucks it with his finger tips is exactly how coaches wish every pass catcher on their team would catch the football. Plus, at 6-foot-4+ with length, he has a tremendous catch radius that allows him to reel in passes other receivers simply can’t reach. During the 1-on-1 period he showed off his crisp route running and ability to separate from defenders, but didn’t get many good looks from the quarterbacks throwing his way. However, he still showed why he is such a special talent throughout the workout and put together a terrific showing during Sunday’s event.

4. CB Adonyss Currie

The defensive back group was arguably the best unit during Sunday’s workout and Adonyss Currie was not only one of the best defensive backs out on the field today, but also the fastest. On On3’s watch, Currie ran his 40 in the low 4.3’s and it showed during the 1-on-1 portion of the workout as well. His ability to stay on the hip of receivers was impressive especially on vertical routes. Even if he was beat off the line of scrimmage, his ability to recover and make up ground down the field is special. He was able to get a hand on plenty of passes during the day and was a tough cover all afternoon. He was also incredibly fluid during the individual drills and was smooth in his pedal and flipping his hips. He has some of the highest upside of any defender in the country due to his length, top end speed and natural cover skills.

5. QB Jaden O’Neal (2026)

It was a strong group of quarterbacks, and on a day with even stronger winds, the arm talent needed to be extra special in order to stand out in Sunday’s group. Leave it to Jaden O’Neal to deliver countless dimes even in some difficult wind conditions during Sunday’s workout. The strong-armed signal caller out of Narbonne (CA) was throwing ropes all afternoon, cutting through the wind like it was nothing. His ability to torque up and unleash the football down the field was incredibly impressive. He was able to drive the ball downfield and up the seam with little to no flutter. On tape, it appeared his motion was a bit more elongated than what he showed during the camp and that was extremely encouraging to see. He delivered dot after dot during the 1-on-1 period and was even throwing with excellent anticipation with receivers he had never worked with before. All the physical tools are there for him and the arm talent is top-notch for the next level and beyond.

6. RB Jojo Solis — California commit

The running back group had some heavy hitters not attend the event so it was a group that had limited numbers in comparison to some other stops on tour. This allowed the individuals that DID attend to get more reps than most and none benefited from that greater than Jojo Solis. It felt like he was lining up to take reps every other snap and he was making all of them count. He was cooking linebackers all day on Sunday and was tremendously strong at the catch point. He arguably had the most natural hands of the entire group and was able to separate consistently all afternoon. His ability to run on defenders toes and burst in and out of his cuts allowed him to separate downfield on vertical routes with ease and create separation on out breaking routes at the intermediate level. He put together the best workout of all the running backs on Sunday and delivered all day long in 1-on-1’s and the individual drills.

7. LB Ethan Coach (2027)

Another group that had multiple prospects not show up was the linebacker group. This allowed for some younger guys to step up and prove themselves against some of the older competition and none shined brighter than 2027 linebacker Ethan Coach. In a setting where he was competing against older competition AND at a position that consistently struggles in 1-on-1’s, Coach stepped up and delivered in a huge way on Sunday afternoon. He was in hip pockets all afternoon and got his hands on a ton of passes during the 1-on-1 period. He was running up the seam with ease and was showing off his athleticism every single rep. He was arguably the most athletic linebacker on the field and put together an extremely impressive performance, especially for a 2027 prospect. His future is bright and has tremendous upside at the linebacker position.

8. OT Kodi Greene (2026)

The offensive line group was solid on Sunday morning, but nobody caught fire quite like Kodi Greene. He started off slow in the 1-on-1 period splitting his first two reps of the day. But after that, he was a brick wall and imposed his will on pass rushers. He took the majority of his reps at right tackle and looked extremely comfortable in his pass sets. He was balanced, under control and displayed great foot quickness. He was able to redirect rushers off the snap and was the aggressor when it came to pass protection. He showed the ability to reset his feet and anchor on one of the last reps of the day and it cemented his place among the top performers during Sunday’s event.

9. DL Prince Williams (2026)

The defensive line group had plenty of quality pass rushers, but none wanted to take more reps than Prince Williams. And not only did he take the most reps, he made most of them count as well. Williams was lining up inside and outside showing off his versatility along the defensive front. He was able to convert speed to power and flashed a strong long arm and bull rush from the outside. Then as he kicked inside he displayed impressive swim moves and spin moves. He was able to get skinny and make himself a small target and opposing linemen struggled to get clean punches on him. He showed advanced technique as a pass rusher and proved he can be a menace as a pass rusher off the edge or as an interior threat.

10. IOL Arion Williams

Arion Williams was someone that put together an extremely clean workout on Sunday morning. He was impressive from start to finish all the way from individual drills to 1-on-1’s. Williams showed great foot speed and hip flexibility during bag drills as well as immense body control and balance. During 1-on-1’s he was consistently winning the battle of hand placement and it was allowing him to gain control of defenders early and often. He never appeared to struggle during pass protection and was making easy work of his opponents. Williams was one of the most polished offensive linemen from a technique perspective at the camp and it showed in his performance.

Additional Notes

+ The quarterback group was full of up and coming stars and I felt that this was one of the strongest groups QB’s on the UA camp circuit. Players like Bear Bachmeier, Akili Smith Jr, Daniel Gomez, Madden Iamaleava, Jackson Kollock, Bekkem Kritza, TJ Lateef, JP Mialovski, Oscar Rios, Brady Edmunds, Michael Mitchell, Brady Smigiel and Jayden Wade all spun the ball extremely well throughout Sunday’s workout.

+The running backs and linebackers had limited numbers, but were still very solid groups. Running backs like Victor Santino, Anthony League, Brian Bonner and Sean Morris all caught the ball well and looked great in individual drills. Linebackers Talanoa Ili, Abduall Sanders and Sirr Bible all got their hands on a couple passes during the 1-on-1 period and showed good cover skills.

+There were a ton of great skill players out on the field during Sunday’s workout. The receivers and tight end group was deep and athletic. Players like Philip Bell, Dreyden Garner, Vander Ploog, Trent Mosley, Caleb Tafua, Jace Brown, Taniela Tupou, Kenneth Moore, Daylen Sharper and Hayden Vercher all had their moments during the 1-on-1 period. On the defensive side of the ball, the secondary had a lot of talent and was making it tough on receivers all afternoon. Defensive backs like Rylan Dillard-Allen, Daryus Dixson, Dijon Lee, Dylan Robinson, Brandon Lockhart and Deon Jackson all made plenty of stops on 1-on-1’s are looked smooth going through drill work.

+The trenches were full of energy and it was an extremely competitive group. On offense, players like Garrison Blank, Drew Hill, Jonah Leapepetele, Ethan Wagner, Jesse Wishon and Joseph James had their fair share of wins in pass protection during 1-on-1’s. And on the defensive side, players like Marco Jones, James Carrington, Simote Katoanga, Alhassan Iddrissu, Jared Martin, Anthony Jones and Keytrin Harris all had strong reps during the 1-on-1 period.
