WATCH: Andy Reid forgets who Packers quarterback Jordan Love is in interview
With hundreds of active players in the NFL, it’s not always easy to remember them all and keep every player on every roster straight. Still, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid inadvertently took a shot at Green Bay QB Jordan Love by not remembering him…even though he started against the Chiefs just a season ago.
At the NFL league meetings, Reid was asked about what he thought of Love in his opportunity in Arrowhead during the 2021 season with Aaron Rodgers out due to COVID protocols. He was completely oblivious in his answer, though, even though Love competed against his team just over a year ago.
“Who’s that?,” asked Reid. “I’m trying to remember Jordan Love.”
“From what I remember, I thought he was good,” Reid said after being reminded.
Now, to be fair, Rodgers is often the quarterback you synonymously connect with the Packers. Even so, it’s not as though Love has never even gotten to see the field yet.
In fact, his only career start came against Kansas City in a 13-7 loss to the Chiefs. Love threw for 190 yards, a touchdown, and an interception on 19/34 passing in that matchup.
You want to give Reid the benefit of the doubt but, considering all things, it’s hard to in this specific instance. The NFL world better get more acquainted with Love too considering the ongoing situation surrounding Rodgers’ future in Green Bay.

Mark Murphy gives peculiar answer on Aaron Rodgers returning
It’s basically an open secret at this point that the Green Bay Packers don’t want Aaron Rodgers to be their starting quarterback in 2023. While no one has outright said it, the team apparently wants to hand the reins to Jordan Love and ship Rodgers elsewhere.
And some recent comments from team president Mark Murphy would seem to confirm that Rodgers is persona non grata in Titletown. Speaking with WBAY’s Adriana Torres, Murphy said that will be the Packers starter in 2023 only if things don’t go according to whatever plan the Packers have laid out.
“If things don’t work out the way that we would want them,” Murphy said.
“Very few players play for only one team. Brett had a great career here. Aaron had a great career here. Regardless of what happens, Aaron will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He will be in our hall of fame. We will bring him back and retire his number,” Murphy said. “But this is just one of the things that you go through as a team. We want to try to achieve something that is good for both Aaron and us.”
Murphy told WBAY that he hopes to have the Rodgers situation resolved prior to the beginning of free agency. As for Love, Murphy has confidence in the quarterback and organization to get him ready.
“We do think he is ready,” Murphy said.
