WATCH: Antonio Brown explains why he would like to land with Dallas Cowboys

Since there are plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding the status of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, it seems pretty clear the team would likely need to sign another wide receiver this off-season. Former Tampa Bay Bucs wide receiver Antonio Brown recently let Cowboys owner Jerry Jones know why he should consider signing him in a podcast called The Pivot.

A few months ago, Brown said after his meltdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that a couple of teams across the NFL were interested in his services. The biggest question will be whether or not the Cowboys would want to deal with the antics that surround Brown. When healthy, Brown has shown that he still can play at an elite form in the National Football League. The biggest problems with him have long been his personality issues and conflicts with teammates and coaches.

The way Antonio Brown left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an NFL team is going to seriously ask themselves if bringing him in is worth the headaches. Even if the Cowboys were to get rid of Cooper, would bringing in Brown be the best option? Especially since the 2022 wide receiver class in the NFL Draft is incredibly deep. There would need to be long and thoughtful discussions before considering bringing him in. Cedrick Wilson had a great year this year. Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb have great potential.

Moreover, it doesn’t seem as if Antonio Brown regrets his actions from that fateful day in East Rutherford. Continuing, the star wide receiver stated while it could’ve been a different ending, the result is what he wanted.

“It’s not a good feeling with the way it ended. But I just feel good that I represented myself the right way,” Brown told Complex. “I could have handled my emotions better from walking off the field and making a distraction. But in that moment, I just didn’t want to be a part of it no more. You’re sacrificing your health to play with someone, and they don’t really respect that. So to me that was a smack in the face. But I think we all, as people, have got to learn how to control our emotions in hostile environments, via him, via me, via everyone.

“So I’m just glad I did what my heart said in the moment. I could have handled it better, but I think you’ve got to stand up for yourself.”
