With the drive kept alive, Cowboys’ defensive lineman Randy Gregory earned two personal fouls of his own to give the Vikings a total of 45 free yards down the stretch. Despite the issues, Dallas held Minnesota out of the end zone and gave their offense a chance to catch up.
On the Cowboys’ final drive of the game, Cooper came up huge with an acrobatic catch on a tipped ball that hit the defense. On the next play, Cooper added another 18 yard catch to his night after slipping by the cornerback for extra yards.
The Cowboys drive appeared to stall out in field goal range as a holding penalty pushed them backwards, but a delay of game called against Minnesota on defense gave them a more manageable third down. That third down saw Ezekiel Elliott make a short catch before fighting through defenders for tough yards after the catch to earn the first down near the goal line.
On the first play after Elliott’s heroics, Cooper Rush found Amari Cooper for the go-ahead touchdown pass. The Cowboys advanced to 6-1 on the season despite missing Prescott for the entire game.
