WATCH: Davante Adams fakes motion, makes easy touchdown catch
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams left the San Francisco redzone defense confused on a touchdown where he faked going in motion before the snap. Adams faked running inside to potentially receive the ball on a run, but immediately cut back outside in a flat route as the ball was snapped.
Davante Adams and Sunday night touchdowns
Coming into Sunday night’s game against the 49ers, Davante Adams held the record for most consecutive Sunday Night Football games with a touchdown. With his first quarter touchdown, he pushes his record to ten-straight endzone appearances on the Sunday night program.
Adams and the Packers recovered from their first drive of the game to end the first quarter leading 10-0. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers closed the first quarter with 127 yards and a touchdown on a perfect nine-for-nine passes completed.
Following their disappointing week 1 performance, Rodgers has completely turned around his numbers. In the entire game against the Detroit Lions and the first quarter against San Francisco, Rodgers completed 32 of 37 passes for five touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Adams and Green Bay improving
In their opening week loss, Adams caught five passes for 56 yards. On Wednesday following that game, Adams joined NFL NOW and reiterated the fact that the Packers’ energy levels didn’t reach necessary levels in the season-opener.

“It just got weird, man. It was a weird game,” Adams said. “We had like 12 plays in the first half. Our defense wasn’t getting off the field and that just wasn’t our best display. We came out really flat and I think that it’ll be a really good wake-up call for us.”
Adams went on to lead the Packers in receiving yards the next week against the Detroit Lions, and claimed his success was from watching another NFL star.
“I think I led the league or was second in [yards after contact] last year, so that was something I wanted to continue to improve upon,” Adams said. “I watched probably 25 minutes worth of [Baltimore quarterback] Lamar Jackson highlights before the game. That’s not a joke, either. I’m being dead serious. I really did.”
