WATCH: Dirty play, punch leads to brawl, Kadarius Toney ejection
The New York Giants had wide receiver Kadarius Toney get ejected against the Dallas Cowboys for an altercation on the field where he threw a punch. As referees sorted out the punishments, both Toney and defensive back Damontae Kazee received penalties while Toney was disqualified from the game for his punch.
Kadarius Toney ejected
After receiving a pass for 13 yards, Toney attempted to dodge defenders before ultimately being swarmed over by the Cowboys. After the play was blown dead, Kazee threw Toney to the ground, beginning the altercation.
Giants wide receiver Evan Engram came to the defense of his teammate by pushing Kazee after the play. While officials separated Kazee and Engram, Toney got up off the ground and found Kazee while he was distracted. After throwing a closed-fist punch, they had to be separated again and eventually officials sorted everything out.
Kazee and Toney both received offsetting penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct, but Kadarius Toney’s actions earned him the ejection. Despite already being down late in the game, the loss of Toney added him to the growing list of unavailable Giants players during Sunday’s game.
The first half saw three major Giants starters injured and ruled out for the rest of the game. Running back Saquon Barkley injured his ankle, quarterback Daniel Jones took a hit to the head that left him stumbling on the field and wide receiver Kenny Golladay injured his knee and did not return from halftime.

Ezekiel Elliott high step touchdown celebration
Earlier in the contest, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott high stepped his way to touchdown reception after catching a pass wide open in the red zone. Having fun at the Giants’ expense and showing his best Deion Sanders impression, Elliott’s touchdown gave the Cowboys a 24-13 lead in the third quarter.
On a well-designed play that saw running back Tony Pollard line up at receiver on the long side of the field, Prescott sent Pollard in motion for a potential handoff after the snap. Faking the handoff, Prescott faked the pitch out to Elliott and froze Giants’ safety Logan Ryan in his tracks.
When Ryan decided to continue to chase after Prescott, Elliott was left wide open for an easy catch. Immediately after catching the ball, Elliott broke into a high step celebration from six yards out of the end zone.
The division rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys makes for hotly contested games each time they face off. Tensions boiled over for both squads during the fourth quarter altercation that saw Toney ejected.
