WATCH: Lewis Cine clocks impressive 40-yard dash at NFL Combine
Former Georgia Bulldog Lewis Cine posted one of the fastest 40-yard dash times amongst his fellow safety prospects on Sunday. He clocked an unofficial 4.40 on his first attempt, which was better than his peers like Kyle Hamilton, Jaquan Brisker and Dax Hill. He improved his pace to a 4.37 on his second run.
Lewis Cine is a high-round prospect and a top-five player at his position, according to draft analyst Mel Kiper. Kiper lists him as his No. 4 overall safety off the board in the NFL Draft. The 4.37 40-yard dash, along with his other impressive measurables from the combine, could boost his stock even higher.
Cine was a key member of the Bulldogs unit that finished this past season first in the FBS in scoring defense and second in total defense. He finished the year with a career-high 73 tackles to go along with an interception and nine passes defended. Georgia went on to claim its first national championship since 1980, defeating Alabama by a score of 33-18.
Cine makes improvement in broad jump
Lewis Cine also had an impressive performance in the broad jump at Sunday’s NFL Scouting Combine. After posting a jump of 10-feet and 11-inches on his first attempt, Cine improved on that number with the second jump of 11-feet, one-inch.

The Georgia safety weighed in at 6-foot-2, 199 pounds, and also posted a vertical jump of 36.5 inches.
To put Lewis Cine’s broad jump in perspective, he finished just outside the top 10 results of all-time at the combine. Former Connecticut defensive back Byron Jones, who now plays for the Miami Dolphins, is the only player to ever go over 12 feet after posting a 12-foot, three-inch broad jump in 2015. Cine also posted the third-best broad jump at this year’s combine regardless of position. North Dakota State receiver Christian Watson is first with a jump of 11-feet, four-inches.
