WATCH: Jameis Winston celebrates Saints win dancing on crutches

New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston was seen dancing with his teammates in the locker room despite being on crutches after his injury. The Saints took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 36-27 on Sunday, but lost Winston during the game to a seemingly significant injury.

Despite the disappointment of his injury, Winston celebrated the Saints’ big win with his team as they improve to 5-2 on the season. The video begins with running back Mark Ingram Jr. celebrating in front of the camera as the locker room partied after the win.
Then the camera focused on Winston as he danced with his crutches up in the air, clearly happy with his team’s effort on the day. Winston left the game after being tackled by a horse collar tackle that caused his leg to buckle on the way to the ground.
Winston was taken for evaluation in the medical tent on the sideline. He was held in the tent for a long time as a motorized cart waited for him outside of it. Teammates Alvin Kamara and Terron Armstead were seen walking into the tent to check on him. He would be ruled out of the game shortly afterwards.
“Celebration video shows knee brace consistent with MCL sprain at least and knee injury,” speculated former NFL doctor David Chao on what he saw in the celebration video.

Through the first six games of the season, Winston has impressed with his decision making as the Saints have achieved a 4-2 record. Winston had thrown 13 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions coming into Sunday’s game, and has posted a passer rating over 100 in four games.
Sean Payton on Winston’s injury
According to New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, Winston suffered a “significant” knee injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The injury occurred early in the second quarter, and left Winston on crutches postgame.
Jameis Winston will likely undergo further tests on the knee injury over the coming week, but many fear bad news. NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport called the injury a “potentially season-ending situation.”
“An apparent ACL injury, as well as potential damage to the MCL,” Rapaport later tweeted.
