WATCH: Jaylen Waddle celebrates touchdown with penguin waddle
Miami Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle lived up to his name with this creative touchdown celebration Sunday against Carolina. After a nine-yard touchdown reception, the former Alabama receiver stuck his arms at his sides and began to waddle like a penguin.
The dart from Tua Tagovailoa score put the Dolphins up by a touchdown early in the second quarter. It was the only touchdown of the day for Jaylen Waddle, who finished to lead Miami with nine catches for 137 yards.
The Dolphins went on to claim a commanding 33-10 victory over the Panthers. It marks the fourth consecutive victory for Miami after beginning the year 1-7.
Drafted sixth overall in 2021, Waddle has made quite the impression thus far in his rookie season. Entering Sunday’s contest, he had recorded 68 catches for 622 yards and three touchdowns. He teamed up with a former Crimson teammate in Tagovailoa.
Tagovailoa missed nearly a month after suffering an early-season injury, but appears to be regaining his previous form. Early in the fourth quarter Sunday, the quarterback was 26-of-29 passing for 224 yards and a touchdown.

Waddle’s 137 yards receiving are a career-best and the first time he has surpassed the 100-yard mark as a pro. He will look to continue to build on his impressive rookie season when the Dolphins turn around to face the New York Giants next Sunday.
With his performance on Sunday, the former Crimson Tide receiver leads all rookies in both catches (77) and receiving yards (759). His four touchdowns are also tied for the league lead.
The Dolphins defense did a nice job containing Cam Newton, who finished a lackluster 5-of-21 passing for just 92 yards and an interception. The loss dropped Carolina to 5-7 on the season and last place in the NFC South.
The Panthers next have a bye week before moving on to face the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 12.
