WATCH: Tony Pollard shreds through Saints defenders on a 58-yard touchdown run
The New Orleans Saints defense allowed Dallas Cowboys’ running back Tony Pollard rip off a 58-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of Thursday night’s game.
Check it out below as he blows by several Saints’ defenders, including Marcus Williams.
The touchdown run put the Cowboys up on the Saints 20-10 with 3:55 remaining in the third quarter. Pollard decided to have a little fun after the run and hit the home Saints crowd with the silencer after the touchdown.
Pollard’s 58-yard touchdown run saw him reach a top speed of 21.17 miles per hour, the fastest speed reached by a Cowboys’ ball-carrier this season, and the second-straight week Pollard has set a career high in speed.
The Memphis product has shown that he’s one of the best backup running backs in the National Football League the past few seasons. He’s got an excellent combination of home-run hitting speed and a phenomenal set of hands.
PFF agrees that Pollard has been one of the league’s very best in 2021.
Thus far this year, he’s already rushed for over 500 rushing yards, while hauling in 31 catches for 256 receiving yards. He’s an excellent pass catcher that has to be accounted for by opposing defenses at all times.

Just last week, Pollard ripped off a 100-yard kick return for touchdown for the Cowboys, demonstrating he’s one of the league’s most versatile and dynamic playmakers. Not only that, the ref also took an epic dive to the turf.
Many fans are screaming for Pollard to get more carries and all he does week in, week out, is prove that he is worthy of more opportunity. While Ezekiel Elliott has been banged up for most of the 2021 season with a knee injury, Pollard has taken advantage of the extra opportunities.
The Memphis product has hauled in 72 catches over the past three seasons. He’s shown that he’s one of the hardest pass-catching running backs in the National Football League to stop.
Cowboys fans are hoping he can keep up his stellar play for an epic playoff run.
