WATCH: Trevon Diggs snags 10th interception of season
The 10th interception of the season for Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs didn’t appear like a catch at first, but it was. After the FOX broadcast crew said the pass was incomplete, the referees ruled otherwise.
The pick was the third of the game for Giants quarterback Mike Glennon. The Cowboys defense forced four total turnovers and did not a touchdown on their way to a 21-6 victory. New York eventually replaced Glennon with Jake Fromm.
With his 10th interception, Trevon Diggs is now only four away from tying the NFL record for most interceptions in a single season. Night Train Lane set the record with 14 picks for the Los Angeles Rams back in 1952.
A second-year player out of Alabama, Diggs also has 19 passes defended on the year. The amount of interceptions from the cornerback this season is already double what he tallied for his entire college career (four). He won a national championship in 2017.
Dallas is on pace to improve to 10-4 as they contend for the top playoff seed in the NFC. The Cowboys are currently the three seed, and would face the 49ers in the first round. They can clinch a playoff berth with a loss from the Saints or 49ers in Week 15.

Dallas has a favorable schedule the rest of the way, with games against Philadelphia, Washington and Arizona. The Cardinals are also contending for the top seed, so that Jan. 2 matchup will be especially crucial.
But before then, another NFC East opponents awaits. The Cowboys are set to face the Washington Football Team on Sunday Night Football in Week 16. Kickoff for that matchup is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
Will Diggs be able to get even closer to the NFL record against Taylor Heinicke and company? Either way, it’s already been a tremendous season for the cornerback.
