After putting together a standout career at Arkansas, wide receiver Treylon Burks has taken his game to next level – being selected No. 18 overall by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft last Thursday night.

As Burks makes the move to Nashville and begins suiting up for the Titans, he’s focused on making an instant impact – and he revealed how he can do just that while meeting with reporters for his introductory press conference.

“Just being myself,” Burks said. “Not trying to be nobody else. Attacking every day like I’m supposed to. The effort and finish of being that guy that’s going to do the extra effort and finish to succeed.”

Burks jumps to the NFL level after a successful career at Arkansas, which included 2,399 yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons with the Razorbacks. The wide receiver put up 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns last season to become a first-round talent who’s landed with Tennessee.

Burks shares why he was excited for second meeting with Titans in pre-draft process

While Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and general manager Jon Robinson shared that their initial meeting with Treylon Burks didn’t impress them, they ultimately gave the wideout a second chance and scheduled a second meeting – with this one taking place in Nashville, Tennessee.

As Burks met with the Tennessee media for the first time, he shared why he was excited for a second meeting with the Titans in the pre-draft process after the first one didn’t go well.

“Honestly, just being in that room – like [Jon Robinson] said, 18 minutes – getting questions here, questions there … not being ready for it, honestly. … Not being ready for it,” Burks said. “That kind of put me in the state to where I wasn’t myself.

“And then being able to come back – I honored that second chance, and I just wanted to show them like who I really am and not that person.”
