LSU freshman softball player Alix Franklin spreads positive message with NIL deal
LSU incoming freshman softball player Alix Franklin is using her NIL to spread the power of positivity.
Franklin – a recent St. Amant (Louisiana) High School grad who led her team to three straight softball state championships – signed an NIL deal to become a brand ambassador with I Am Second. The Dallas-based nonprofit organization provides resources for people to “take the next step to embrace a new identity of putting God and others first.”
“I’ve always dreamed of playing college softball so that I could tell people about Jesus,” Franklin said in a social media post announcing the partnership. “Being a part of this organization allows me to use my platform as an LSU athlete to share the gospel and use my gifts, talents and abilities for his glory.”
Franklin, a corner infielder, experienced plenty of personal glory throughout her high school career. As a senior, she batted .533 and finished with 18 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 57 runs despite being walked 47 times. She hit .544 as a junior and had 22 home runs. Franklin is a four-time all-state selection who plays summer ball with the Texas Bombers American 18U team.
“Last year she was great, but there was not as much pressure,” St. Amant coach Amy Pitre told the Baton Rouge Advocate. “This year the pressure was there, and Alix was great again.”
LSU felt like home for Alix Franklin
Alix Franklin had plenty of suitors, but in the end, she wanted to stay close to home and LSU checked all the boxes on her list.

Major College Football Playoff implications
“LSU is home,” Franklin, who also carried a 4.0 grade-point average in high school, told the Advocate.
“I am a big family gal that likes minimal change. I will be 30 minutes away, and I grew up going to their games. LSU has a phenomenal environment, and the staff makes me feel so loved and accepted. I really want to watch my little brother grow up, and my family support system is strong. I want to give back to my community and state.”
Along with her state championships, Franklin was highly ranked by multiple scouting services. She was a consensus top 30 player nationally.
