12-time Bowman Gray modified champion Burt Myers enters Clash with AmeriVet
The Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium is going to have a bit of local flavor with Burt Myers entering the event with AmeriVet. Who is Myers? Well, he’s the 12-time track champion at Bowman Gray and a two-time NASCAR modified champ.
There will be a pair of Bowman Gray legends in the Clash between Burt Myers and Tim Brown. Brown is set to suit up for Rick Ware Racing for the event.
AmeriVet is entering the No. 50 car for this race. Myers will drive it. The Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium will pit these local stars against the best in the Cup Series. Is there a world where Myers makes a top-5 run in the Clash?
These blue-collar racers are going to put their best performances on the track. With how many laps someone like Myers has at Bowman Gray, I think he can make some noise. Then again, we haven’t seen a lot of speed out of the AmeriVet team.
The last time they were on the track, AmeriVet finished P38 at Phoenix. Despite the recent struggles, they probably have the best driver available for this Clash attempt at Bowman Gray.
Championships at Bowman Gray, in the NASCAR Southern Modified Tour, and SMART Modified Tour, Myers has been there and done that. Now he is going to show the Cup Series what they’re made of at the Madhouse.

Clash at Bowman Gray shines light on modified drivers
As part of the weekend festivities for the Clash at Bowman Gray, NASCAR is going to highlight the modified drivers. In fact, the Madhouse Classic will be the first live race event aired on the new “NASCAR Channel.”
NASCAR is launching a new 24/7 FAST channel. It’s a Free Ad-Supported Television channel. That means it is a free streaming channel and fans can watch it on Tubi. So, a 24/7 channel with all NASCAR content with podcasts, shows, and more.
While it would be great to just have a podcast and show network, this is more. The Madhouse Classic will air live on the new channel during Clash weekend. It will put so many eyes on Bowman Gray and the modified drivers in the race.
Burt Myers will test his skills against the Cup Series stars. Before Sunday, he will show everyone what he is best at – racing his modified at Bowman Gray.
