Two people were shot outside a Maryland vigil to remember Khyree Jackson, Anthony Lytton and Isaiah Hazel, according to WJLA-TV. The incident took place in a parking lot outside Wise High School.

According to WJLA, a man and a woman suffered injuries in the shooting, and the man is listed in critical condition. Police also recovered a gun from the scene.

Jackson, Lytton and Hazel all died in a car accident last week in Maryland. Jackson was preparing for his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Oregon. The Ducks also held a vigil for Jackson – who started his career at the JUCO level and at Alabama – which included an emotional eulogy from head coach Dan Lanning.

“I’m also grateful for God aligning people that are on two different sides in the United States,” Lanning said. “You talk about connection and our program, you know, tonight is generally a night we do a program in our with our players called ‘Get Real,’ and we spend all of our time talking about things outside of football.

“Things that means so much to each and every one of us: family, faith, struggles. But I keep coming back to the fact that how did we get aligned with a young man like Khyree and I’m really grateful for God letting those stars align and me having the opportunity to coach a guy like Khyree. And spend time with a guy like Khyree. Same for our players and know how grateful they are that they got to share a locker room with him.”

Maryland Police released details of the accident after the news broke, confirming it took place just after 3 a.m. ET. Police also said investigators believe alcohol “may have been a contributing circumstance in the crash.”

Isaiah Hazel and Khyree Jackson were pronounced deceased on the scene. AJ Lytton was transported to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by the attending medical professionals.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the silver Infiniti, later identified as Cori Clingman, was traveling northbound on Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George’s County,” the report said. “Investigators believe Clingman attempted to change lanes while driving at a high rate of speed when she struck the Dodge Charger and then struck the Chevrolet Impala. The Charger subsequently traveled off of the right side of the roadway and struck multiple tree stumps where the vehicle came to rest.”
