2024 NFL Draft odds released on players selected No. 1 through 3 in first round
OK, you’ve placed your bets on who could be the top pick in the NFL Draft. Now, it’s time to think about who might be the next two names.
Remember, selections No. 2 and 3 in last year’s NFL Draft went on to have super successful seasons. The Texans opted for CJ Stroud, then Will Anderson in consecutive picks. Each won NFL Rookie of the Year honors.
Currently, the consensus suggests that the Bears, who own the No. 1 choice, will select USC quarterback Caleb Williams. The drama is in the next two slots. Commanders, you’re on the clock. And here’s who FanDuel Sportsbook projects who will go either No. 2, then possibly 3.
Drake Maye, North Carolina QB -160
It always seems that Williams and Maye are a tandem pick. The NFL draft gurus consistently have them listed together at 1 and 2.
The Commanders likely are moving on from Sam Howell, so they want a quarterback. Can Washington land a Stroud? Oddsmakers list Maye +190 for the third spot.
Jayden Daniels, LSU QB +170
Keep an eye on Daniels. You can hear whispers that the reigning Heisman winner may be the biggest playmaker in the draft.
The Commanders need a quarterback. So does post Bill Belichick New England since Mac Jones is not panning out. This year’s NFL Draft offers elite quarterbacks galore. Oddsmakers list Daniels at +160 to go No. 3.
Caleb Williams, USC QB +1100
Williams seems like a lock for the top spot. But maybe the Heisman winner from 2022 falls.
He definitely won’t go far. Because like we said, Washington and New England are shopping for quarterbacks. No one believes Williams will drop. But just in case, he is +3000 for the third pick.
Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State WR +1500
So maybe a dazzling Harrison can make a team covet a receiver. Maybe either the Commanders or Patriots trade out of the spot.
Harrison won the Biletnikoff Award as the best receiver in the country. And, he scored 14 touchdowns. He is +270 to go at No. 3.
J.J. McCarthy, Michigan QB +3000
The Wolverines quarterback is starting to rise up the NFL Draft boards, with more mocks listing him as a top eight pick.
But going No. 2 or No. 3 could be a stretch. Oddsmaker lists him at +850 for No. 3.
Joe Alt, Notre Dame tackle +5000
Let’s break up the skills fest with a lineman. Although it is early in the scouting process, Alt seems to be the consensus best offensive lineman available.
A team that doesn’t need a quarterback but would like to protect one could trade up to land Alt. The odds for Alt going third are +3500.

Olu Fashanu, Penn State tackle: +7500
Again, if a team needs a tackle, Fashanu is an option for an elite selection.
The Big Ten picked him as the best lineman in the league. He will make any quarterback happy, rookie or vet.
Bo Nix, Oregon quarterback: +10000
It can’t be said enough. This NFL Draft is chockful of quarterbacks. Some analysts are projecting as many as six could go in the first round, which would tie a league record.
Nix seems to be the fifth-ranked QB in the draft. But to go early in the draft, all it takes is for a head coach or offensive coordinator to fall in love with the QB’s game.
Rome Odunze, Washington WR +10000
This round is so top-heavy with skill position players. And Odunze will challenge Harrison as the top prospect at receiver.
Odunze caught 156 passes from Michael Penix in the past two seasons. He definitely is worthy of an elite pick.
Michael Penix Jr., Washington QB +10000
Penix was runner-up for the Heisman, so he has the big stats. But does he have the durability for the NFL? That is his main question.
Penix probably will not go this high, but he is in the quarterback conversation for the first round.
Malik Nabers, LSU WR +10000
Nabers also is a stat king. He led the FBS with 1,569 yards as he caught balls from Daniels.
The NFL Combine should give us a receiver order for the draft. But if a team needs a receiver, this is a year.
Brock Bowers, Georgia tight end +10000
Travis Kelce and George Kittle have revitalized the tight end position. And Bowers is the best tight end in the NFL Draft.
However, it is doubtful Bowers goes this high, but he is definitely a first-rounder.
NFL Draft prospects will gather in Indianapolis next week for the scouting combine. Everyone will get a better idea then of how the draft will play out in late April.
