2024 NFL Draft: Top 25 fastest 40-yard dash times at NFL Scouting Combine
Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, the top 25 fastest 40-yard dash times are now official with the scouting combine in the rearview mirror.
Not only did we see some blazing fast times, we saw a brand new record! It’s only a matter of time before that gets matched or broken because these players seemingly get faster every year.
Let’s dive into the top 25 40-yard dash times at this year’s scouting combine.
1. Xavier Worthy, WR – Texas: 4.21
Worthy broke the NFL Scouting Combine record with this time. The Texas wide receiver can absolutely fly, can’t he? Now, it’s a matter of where he’ll go in the draft.
Some mocks have him going in the first round, possibly at No. 32 to the two-time champion Kansas City Chiefs. That almost seems unfair right? Patrick Mahomes to Worthy? Sounds deadly.
2. Nate Wiggins, CB – Clemson: 4.28
Wiggins was listed as the fastest defensive back in the class based on the 40-time. Speed kills and speed defends.
Heck, if you have to defend a guy like Worthy above him or other speedsters like Miami’s combo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, you better have a guy like Wiggins. Not to mention he’s a projected first-round pick anyway.
T3. Quinyon Mitchell, CB – Toledo: 4.33
Mitchell’s been rising up draft boards and is a popular choice for a first-round selection. Feldman has him on his freaks list with his 21 bench press reps at 225 pounds and ran a 4.3 twice in the 40-yard dash. Now, he’s got his official time, right in that range.
His speed and ball-hawking skills make him stand out among most defensive backs. He’s one of the top “freaks” in this draft class.
T3. Brian Thomas Jr., WR – LSU: 4.33
Thomas Jr. is a popular first-round selection, but more likely in the latter half of the first round. His speed could bump him up though.
Everyone’s chasing Marvin Harrison Jr. and even his LSU teammate Malik Nabers. But perhaps more attention should be paid to Thomas Jr. for his skills.
T3. Isaac Guerendo, RB – Louisville: 4.33
Following a long tenure at Wisconsin, Guerendo transferred to Louisville for his final season. Safe to say, he made it count with career numbers.
He ran for 810 yards and averaged 6.1 yards per carry. This man is fast and we mean, really fast. That helped him score 11 touchdowns as well.
T6. AD Mitchell, WR – Texas: 4.34
Mitchell was a high-profile wide receiver throughout the entire year and it helped that he shared the field with Worthy, who was the fastest. But don’t forget how fast Mitchell is either.
He’s a first-round talent and can stretch the field and run by pro defenders. He can be that good. Not to mention he’s a great talent overall as a pass catcher.
T6. Decamerion Richardson, CB – Mississippi State: 4.34
Richardson steadily got better as a player throughout his career at Mississippi State. Coaches have three years of tape to look at but you can’t miss his speed.
He logged 179 total tackles, 106 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, 10 pass deflections and one fumble recovery. He should be a solid selection in April.
T8. Nehemiah Pritchett, CB – Auburn: 4.36
Pritchett was limited to nine games this past season, his fifth at Auburn. But still, he ran a great 40-yard dash and had a solid combine this past week.
Overall, Pritchett had 115 total tackles in his college career, 5.5 for loss, one sack and three picks. Not to mention he had 24 pass deflections, so he’s a great cover defensive back.
T8. Devontez Walker, WR – North Carolina: 4.36
Walker was talked about quite a bit this past fall due to his eligibility status. But once he finally suited up for North Carolina, he made an impact right away.

His speed is evident and he’s starting to make noise as a potential first-round pick in April. In eight games, he finished with 41 catches, 699 yards, seven touchdowns and 17 yards per catch.
T10. Jaylen Wright, RB – Tennessee: 4.38
Wright is a really talented running back but he happens to be one of the fastest. If he’s able to hit the hole, wave goodbye until he hits the end zone.
He set career highs last season with 1,013 yards and 7.4 yards per carry. He only scored four touchdowns but put up 10 in 2022.
T10. Jarrian Jones, CB – Florida State: 4.38
Well, you need speed at the cornerback position and Jones can provide that. He might’ve turned some heads at the combine with this performance.
After one year at Mississippi State, Jones had a prosperous career at Florida State over the last four seasons. He had three interceptions last year and finished with 96 career tackles.
T10. Jacob Cowing, WR – Arizona: 4.38
The last two years at Arizona put Cowing into a bigger spotlight ahead of an NFL career. His numbers were down last season in terms of yards, but he set a career-high with 13 touchdowns.
Over the course of Cowing’s career, he averaged 14.2 yards per catch. That definitely happened due to his speed. Getting below 4.4 is blazing fast!
T10. Daequan Hardy, CB – Penn State: 4.38
Hardy broke that 4.4 threshold to get into the top 10 times, very impressive. The former Penn State corner could make someone very happen next season.
He logged five interceptions in his career and 19 pass deflections. Despite playing eight and nine games as a freshman and junior, Hardy did play a full year in 2023, giving teams hope that he’ll stay fully healthy.
T10. Deantre Prince, CB – Ole Miss: 4.38
Prince played a full four seasons at Ole Miss and was extremely consistent. His speed was also very consistent at that rate.
He finished his career with 146 total tackles, one sack, six interceptions and 21 pass deflections. Prince should rise up draft boards now.
