TV ratings for the 2024 Paris Olympics continue to be strong. NBC has announced that ratings for the 2024 Olympics were the best yet on Sunday as more than 41 million viewers tuned in.

NBC also announced that the three-day total viewership average is up 79 percent from the Tokyo Olympics.

The 41 million-plus viewers includes those who tuned in on NBC, Peacock and other NBC Universal platforms.

Streaming is a big reason why TV ratings have been so strong from Paris. Thus far, more than 4.5 billion minutes of the 2024 Paris Olympics have been streamed.

Team USA basketball brought in a huge crowd on Sunday as it averaged 10.9 million viewers. That’s more than the number of people who watched the Tokyo Olympics Gold Medal Game in 2021. The US Women’s Soccer Team also drew a big crowd, with an average of more than 4.2 million viewers.

Other events that took place on Sunday included women’s gymnastics qualifying, the US Women’s Rugby Team topping Brazil and several swimming events.

The average number of viewers across the first three days is 34.5 million.

The United States extended its lead in the overall medal count at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Monday. But, Japan maintained its lead, now all by itself, with the Gold Medal lead.

But it was a great day Monday morning for the USA as you’ll see in the medal count. So far so good at the Olympics for the Americans with plenty of events to go.

The table of the top 10 countries at the Olympics can be seen below (ordered by gold medal count).

One of the highlights for USA Monday was Penn State’s Stephen Nedoroscik clinching the country’s first men’s gymnastics team medal since 2008.

Nedoroscik is considered a pommel horse specialist and it’s the only event he competed in during the all around. It was also the last routine on the last rotation of the day for the Americans, meaning he had to sit in anticipation of the event for hours.
