After Florida’s thrilling comeback win over Texas Tech to start the night, a second team is heading to the 2025 Final Four. Duke took down Alabama in the East Regional – and the updated national title odds are out.

The Blue Devils remain the favorite and are now +110 to win the national championship, according to FanDuel. That marks some slight movement from the +180 odds prior to tip-off of Saturday’s game.

Duke looked like it was in the driver’s seat early in the first half, but Alabama mounted a charge to make things interesting. Still, the Blue Devils took a 46-37 lead into the locker room thanks to a strong offensive attack.

Alabama’s high-powered offense wasn’t going to go down easy, though. The Crimson Tide started to kick things into gear in the second half and made things interesting, staying within single digits through the early part of the half.

Duke still did enough to fight off the Alabama charge. Each time the Crimson Tide made a surge, the Blue Devils had a response, and an Alabama scoreless drought in the middle of the half allowed Duke to create separation.

In the end, Duke got the 85-65 victory. The program is now heading to the Final Four for the 18th time in program history – and the first under Jon Scheyer after falling in the Elite Eight a year ago. Ahead of Saturday’s game, he put the meaning of the Alabama matchup into perspective with that in mind.

“You don’t take for granted how hard it is to get to an Elite 8, first and foremost,” Scheyer said Friday. “So when you’re in this spot, you have another opportunity to be back, you want to seize the moment. Frankly, every decision we’ve made since March 31 of last year was to put ourselves in this same position and have the opportunity to capitalize.

“I think the biggest thing to understand for our team and our players is you don’t have to do anything different once you’re here. You have to do it at a high level, but you don’t have to do anything different. Everything we’ve done this summer with our workouts, the mental preparation has been building mental toughness, and really preparing to be at your best when your best is required. That’s what this game is all about.”

Kon Knueppel led Duke in scoring against Alabama with 21 points while Tyrese Proctor added 17. Cooper Flagg also had an impressive night with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Now, the Blue Devils will chart a course for San Antonio in the 2025 Final Four. They will take on the either Houston or Tennessee in the Final Four next week at the Alamodome.
