2025 Kentucky Derby: Livvy Dunne turns heads on red carpet

The stars are out at the 2025 Kentucky Derby. Ahead of the 151st running, some big names were walking down the red carpet at Churchill Downs. One person, in particular, turned heads in what is her first time ever attending the event.
Livvy Dunne followed Kentucky Derby tradition with a big hat, matching her dress. A mixture of white and black, the outfit was showed off before Dunne participated in an interview. She added in a purse, a watch on her left wrist, and a couple of bracelets as well.
Plenty more stars will steal the show at the Kentucky Derby red carpet. For now, you can check out Dunne’s full outfit here.
Dunne recently wrapped up her gymnastics career. LSU was competing for back-to-back national championships but fell short in the semifinals. An emotional goodbye to the sport, Dunne is now on to the next stage of her life.
Although, attending these types of events are nothing new. While this is Dunne’s first-ever Kentucky Derby, she has walked down plenty of red carpets throughout the years. Unfortunately, this one was without her boyfriend, Paul Skenes. He is in Pittsburgh with the Pirates, competing against the San Diego Padres.

More on the 2025 Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs
Journalism currently sits as the favorite, trained by Michael McCarthy with jockey Umberto Rispoli. He has won four straight races after finishing third in his maiden race. Over that span, he has an average speed figure of 107 and a high of 110 – the average figure for the Kentucky Derby winner has been 107 over the past five years.
The state of the track often determines which horse can claim an advantage, based on their past experience on each surface. The current weather forecast gives a high of 60 degrees with a 50-percent chance of rain at post time, setting the stage for wet conditions.
With so much data available on each horse, jockey and trainer coming into the race and the element of randomness too, many people take other paths to choosing their best bet. Whether you pick the best name or the prettiest horse, there is no wrong approach at the Kentucky Derby.
It is also a week of traditions, so whether in attendance or at home, enjoy the big hats and bold suits, along with the Mint Juleps and Oaks Lilies.
