2025 LSU Football Win Totals: Odds released for pivotal season under Brian Kelly

The LSU Tigers have failed to make the College Football Playoff under Brian Kelly in three seasons. Now, going into the 2025 season, it’s clear that this will be a pivotal season for the Tigers.
In 2024, LSU went 9-4, winning the Texas Bowl in the process. However, it was the first season in which LSU didn’t win at least 10 games under Kelly. That result, in a year where the College Football Playoff expanded to 12 teams, was a disappointing outcome, especially considering the Tigers haven’t made the Playoff since they won the national championship in 2019.
Now, going into the 2025 season, FanDuel has set the 2025 win total for LSU at 8.5 wins. They’re also listed at +100 to go under that win total and -122 to go over that win total.
The 2025 season kicks off with a massive non-conference game for LSU. The Tigers are set to make a road trip to the other Death Valley on August 30th to take on the Clemson Tigers. That game will likely set the tone early in the season. On top of that, opening games have been an issue for Kelly and the Tigers. LSU is 0-3 against marquee non-conference opponents in their first game of the season under Kelly, losing to Florida State twice and USC last season.
Beyond Clemson, LSU will play two Group of Five schools and an FCS opponent in their non-conference slate, including Louisiana Tech and Southeastern Louisiana.

The SEC slate begins on September 13th against the Florida Gators. That game is set to be played at Baton Rouge’s Death Valley. Their bye weeks are then scheduled for the first weekend in October and the first weekend in November respectively.
Part of what led to pushback against Brian Kelly in 2024 was that his former team, Notre Dame, played in the College Football Playoff and eventually made it to the national championship. There, the Irish came up short but it also didn’t make for a favorable comparison for Kelly when compared to what he’s done at LSU. The Tigers were playing in the Texas Bowl, but there is still plenty to take moving forward from that, according to Kelly.
“It’s been really fun to coach this team,” Kelly said in part. “I know, you know, cynics would say it was disappointing. It wasn’t disappointing. It was a team that was less than perfect because of inexperience. A team that that gained experience. We still played with six true freshmen and a redshirt freshman most of the time on defense. And they kept battling. So, you know, to win nine games, and win three in a row at the end — just happy for our football team.”
The focus this offseason will be on improving as a team and finding a way to once again compete for the SEC Championship and the CFP in Baton Rouge.
