nfl mock draft--

Before we know it, the 2025 NFL Draft will be upon us. College football is in its latter stages, being just a couple weeks away from conference championship games and then the College Football Playoff. Stars players with bright NFL futures will be on full display.

CBS Sports has shaken up its 2025 mock draft, releasing a fresh one on Monday. Two major trades take place, both involving quarterbacks — one at the top of the draft and another at the back end.

You can check out the entire mock draft from CBS Sports, with all 32 first-round selections being projected.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter

Debates will take place over which position Hunter will play at the next level. Teams will love his tape at both cornerback and wide receiver, having a tough decision to make.

Getting him into the franchise is the top priority, though. CBS sees Hunter as too good of a prospect for somebody like Jacksonville to pass up on.

2. New York Giants (via TEN) – Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

New York officially waved the white flag on Daniel Jones, announcing he will not be the team’s starting quarterback moving forward. Tommy DeVito will take over for the rest of this season before presumably finding somebody new for 2025.

Trading up three spots to get their guy, Sanders would make back-to-back Colorado selections. If Deion Sanders is going to pull off an Eli Manning, maybe the Giants are a perfect landing spot.

3. Cleveland Browns – Miami QB Cam Ward

Deshaun Watson is out for the year and his time in Cleveland might be up. Even with a difficult contract situation, the Browns need a new franchise quarterback.

Ward almost left college for the NFL last season but has seen his stock skyrocket since joining Miami. He will certainly be in play as a top-three pick come April.

4. Las Vegas Raiders – Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan

Davante Adams was traded away earlier in the season, leaving wide receiver as a position of need. McMillan has been on NFL radars for quite some time and is certainly in contention for the WR1 spot.

Arizona has not had the best season but McMillan continues to put up eye-popping stats. He might have a brand new quarterback throwing to him with the Raiders too (more on that later in the mock draft).

5. Tennessee Titans (via NYG) – Texas OT Kelvin Banks

Trading back with New York would bring in some extra draft capital for Tennessee. Still being able to select Banks could be viewed as a massive victory for the Titans.

Banks was a starter at left tackle from Day 1 in Austin, blocking Quinn Ewers‘ blindside. The same job would be expected of him at the next level, just having the back of Will Levis.

6. New England Patriots – LSU OT Will Campbell

New England has seemingly found something in Drake Maye. Now, the goal is to put pieces around the quarterback to make him successful.

No better move than finding a potential franchise offensive tackle. CBS’ mock draft has just three OTs in the first round but Campbell is worthy of this high selection.

7. New York Jets – Michigan DT Mason Graham

Michigan’s defensive line has been popular in NFL circles for a while now. The national championship run highlighted their ability and even with a poor 2024 season, it remains true.

Graham is viewed as the better of the two prospects. He would head East to New York to play for the Jets and pair up with an already talented front seven.

8. Carolina Panthers – Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter

A roster desperate to acquire talent, Carolina could be open to any position. Sure, quarterback is a need but after two straight wins, their draft position has gone down a few spots.

Landing Carter is certainly not a bad prize. Carter is in his first year playing as an EDGE after formerly being a linebacker. Rarely do we see the draft’s top EDGE go this far down the board but Carolina would not be complaining.

9. Dallas Cowboys – Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr.

The 2024 season has not gone to plan for Dallas, currently slated to be in the top 10 of the draft. Last time they were in this range, a pass rusher by the name of Micah Parsons was selected.

Pearce is another high-upside EDGE prospect and once considered the favorite to go No. 1 overall. Lining him up opposite Parsons could have offensive lines in shambles for years to come.

10. New Orleans Saints – Michigan CB Will Johnson

New Orleans invested in a cornerback last draft, taking Kool-Aid McKinstry. Trading Marshon Lattimore means the other side should be open moving forward.

If you look past Hunter, Johnson is widely considered the best pure corner in the cycle. Injuries have kept him off the field at times this season but should not hurt how NFL talent evaluators view him.
