Just a few weeks remain before the 2025 NFL Draft gets underway in Green Bay. The mock drafts are coming in hot, and ESPN’s Booger McFarland shared his prediction for the Top 10 picks – and Shedeur Sanders isn’t on the list.

McFarland predicted quarterback Cam Ward would go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans and pass rusher Abdul Carter would hear his name called as the No. 2 pick to the Cleveland Browns. Two-way standout Travis Hunter was his No. 3 overall pick to the New York Giants before offensive lineman Will Campbell was selected at No. 4 by the New England Patriots and defensive tackle Mason Graham went No. 5 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in McFarland’s predictions.

When he got to the Las Vegas Raiders, though, McFarland said he was “torn” about what they would do. He left it blank, saying they’d take an “offensive weapon,” although multiple mock drafts project the franchise to select Ashton Jeanty to bolster the backfield.

From there, McFarland sees the New York Jets selecting versatile tight end Tyler Warren at No. 7, the Carolina Panthers taking pass rusher Jalon Walker at No. 8 and the New Orleans Saints drafting athletic pass rusher Shemar Stewart with the No. 9 overall pick. That leaves Jeanty to go No. 10 overall to the Chicago Bears.

Sanders’ absence is notable considering mixed opinions about his draft stock. ESPN’s Field Yates projected the former Colorado star to go No. 3 overall to the Giants in his two-round 2025 NFL mock draft on Wednesday, although Adam Schefter said the “sense” is Sanders could fall out of the Top 3 entirely. He presents an interesting case for NFL Draft evaluators, and the Giants could opt for a skill player with their pick after signing veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

“Right now, Greeny – just under a month away from the NFL Draft – it sounds increasingly unlikely that Shedeur Sanders would wind up going 2 or 3,” Schefer said on ESPN’s NFL Draft Countdown. “That is where it would get interesting. The story of the draft then would become, where is Shedeur Sanders going to go?

“Now, I still think the Cleveland Browns are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. The New York Giants are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. And it’s always possible that one of these organizations can have a change in philosophy and a shift in their thinking, and come around to Shedeur. But the way that I’m reading it right now is that he doesn’t figure to be either team’s pick right now through the tea leaves.”
