The 2024-2025 college football season is over and that means that things are starting to get into motion for the 2025 NFL Draft. Chatter surrounding the draft is starting to ramp up and the East-West Shrine Bowl is being played on Thursday night on the NFL Network. Ahead of that game, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network gave us some insight on which teams are pursuing a quarterback in the first round. He said the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are both “likely” to take a quarterback in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s certainly going to be the big time place of intrigue this offseason. You have three teams at the top of the draft. You have the Titans, the Browns, and the Giants. All very much in need of quarterbacks. So many other teams in and around the top, at least three. Maybe more, who need a quarterback. So, of course, in Mobile, in bars and restaurants where on the sidelines. Where all the gossip is being discussed,” Rapoport said.

“And of course, that’s where I find myself. This is really one of the big discussions. How do the quarterbacks go? And I would say some of the Tennessee Titans brass, among which Borgonzi, new General Manager. Chad Brinker, their entire staff were in Mobile. I think they kind of raised some eyebrows a little bit saying they will not pass on a generational talent at one. Leading one to believe that maybe if there is a player they need worthy, maybe they do not take a quarterback. We know that’s certainly something worth considering.” Rapoport continued.

“We know the Browns are probably gonna take one. The Giants are probably gonna take one. You have Cam Ward. You have Shedeur Sanders. So much intrigue as far as how it actually shapes out. Joe Schoen the General Manager of the Giants says, he’s gone out of his way to talk publicly about how much he likes Shedeur Sanders. We know that he was in Miami a ton, doing a lot of investigating and doing a lot of research, scouting, and all of that. No one knows right now what the Titans are gonna do at one. Are they gonna take a quarterback? Are they gonna take a positional player? Are they gonna trade? How this all shakes out will be one of the more fascinating top of the drafts we have seen,” Rapoport finished.
