2025 NFL Draft: CBS Sports releases new mock during free agency, Shedeur Sanders drops out of first round
On3

The latest CBS Sports mock draft is here as NFL free agency rolls on and there’s a trade at the top! Perhaps the biggest surprise is Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders dropping out of the first round.

That’s right, only one quarterback goes in the first round. So after Cam Ward, what does the rest of the first round entail?

Let’s dive into the latest NFL mock draft from CBS Sports. This is from Chris Trapasso.

1. New York Giants (trade with Titans): Cam Ward, QB – Miami

CBS Sports projected a trade here as the Giants go up to the top spot in the draft in order to get Ward. New York now has their franchise quarterback regardless of what they do in free agency.

More than likely, Ward gets the nod on Day 1 as Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen need to nail this pick. Welcome to the biggest media market!

2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, CB/WR – Colorado

The Browns draft arguably the best overall player in the class, depending upon how you measure it. Hunter won the Heisman for his two-way role and excelled on offense and defense.

Cleveland might need a quarterback, but they need a star that can make an impact on either side of the ball. Hunter is their guy.

3. Tennessee Titans (trade with Giants): Adbul Carter, EDGE – Penn State

CBS Sports projected a trade here as the Titans move on from Harold Landry and also get draft capital. So, drafting Carter makes sense here.

Carter is a prime candidate to go No. 1 overall in this draft. But if a QB needy team goes up, Carter could slide a pick or two.

4. New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT – LSU

The Patriots have a franchise quarterback so what’s the next natural move? Get protection for said quarterback.

New England’s hit free agency hard and spent some money. So, get a franchise tackle on a rookie deal!

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT – Michigan

Graham’s seemingly been linked to the Jaguars in the draft for months at this point. It’s practically a slam dunk selection.

Graham is an elite run stuffer and can rush the passer from the interior. Jacksonville certainly needs it on defense going into 2025.

6. Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB – Boise State

The Raiders traded for Geno Smith, so the quarterback is set right? It’s not like he’s only good for one or two more years physically. Pete Carroll believes!

So, get Smith a star running back to hand the ball to. Jeanty was the Heisman runner up after a historic season and can break out in Vegas.

7. New York Jets: Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona

The Jets could’ve been a candidate to draft a quarterback, but they signed Justin Fields. So with that, McMillan is the pick.

McMillan can go up and get it and also stretch the field. Pairing him with Garrett Wilson should be quite fun right? A new era of the Jets needs some positivity in a post-Aaron Rodgers world.

8. Carolina Panthers: Jihaad Campbell, LB – Alabama

Campbell can be plugged in right away on the Panthers defense. He can be that good in the middle. Let him patrol!

This draft is probably about defense first for the Panthers considering they’re starting to get it together on offense after they unlocked Bryce Young. Campbell is the pick.

9. New Orleans Saints: Armand Membou, OT – Missouri

Kellen Moore, the new head coach, knows how important a good offensive line is to a quarterback and the total operation. Membou fits the bill.

The Missouri tackle steadily rose up draft boards in recent weeks. Even over Texas OT Kelvin Banks. Don’t let him slip by!

10. Chicago Bears: Tyler Warren, TE – Penn State

The Bears went the free agency route, and trade route, for offensive line help. So this affords them to draft a playmaker. Enter Tyler Warren!

Warren was arguably the best pass catching tight end in college football last year and he won’t last long in this draft. Give Caleb Williams an additional playmaker ASAP.
