2025 NFL Draft: ESPN debuts Top 13 QB rankings after Week 7 of college football
ESPN debuted its Top 13 quarterback rankings after Week 7 of college football ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid ranked them from top to bottom and we have an early look at the draft-eligible quarterbacks. As of now, all 13 are Power 4 signal callers.
Let’s dive into ESPN’s latest quarterback rankings, starting with a man from Boulder.
1. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
There’s no doubt Sanders is playing at a high level. He’s proving last year was no fluke, at least so far.
He could very well be the first quarterback taken in the 2025 draft at this point. He was 2,018 yards, 17 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 72.6% completion percentage through the first half of the season.
2. Cam Ward, Miami
Ward is firmly in the Heisman conversation through the first half of the season. The Miami quarterback is well on track to have his best season ever.
This year, Ward has 2,219 yards, 20 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 69.2% completion percentage. On the ground, Ward has 161 rushing yards and three scores.
3. Carson Beck, Georgia
Beck was a popular choice to be a Heisman winner this year and certainly in the running for No. 1 quarterback. Right now, he’s the third-best, per ESPN.
In six games, Beck has 1,818 yards, 15 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 67.9% completion percentage. Winning at Texas could propel him up the list next week.
4. Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Milroe got off to a hot start but slowed down a bit in recent weeks. He’s still a top four quarterback according to ESPN.
This season, the Crimson Tide QB has 1,483 yards, 12 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 72.7% completion percentage. He also has 319 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns, so there’s no question that he’s a scoring machine.
5. Quinn Ewers, Texas
Quinn Ewers returned from injury and looked a little rusty, but picked it up in Texas’ win over Oklahoma. Before being sidelined, Ewers was firing on all cylinders.
This season, Ewers has 890 yards, nine touchdowns, three touchdowns and a 72.7% completion percentage. As long as he’s healthy, he’ll continue to improve based on what we saw in September.
6. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
Nussmeier is finally having his breakout campaign. The quarterbacks above him have more history but ‘Nuss’ is on track to have quite the year.
This season, he has 1,989 yards, 18 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 64.3% completion percentage. The highlight of the year has to be throwing the winning touchdown to beat Ole Miss in overtime, at least so far.
7. Drew Allar, Penn State
The much-maligned Drew Allar is an intriguing quarterback because he has the physical tools to be much higher on this list. When he’s on, oh boy he’s lights out.
It might come down to consistency, turnovers or something else for Allar. But if he can take the next step, he’ll vault up the list. The good news is, his stats measure up to others: 1,492 yards, 11 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 70.5% completion percentage.
8. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Dart lit the world on fire over the first four games of the season. Not that he’s tailed off, but the last three weeks featured two losses for Ole Miss.

Still, he’s on pace to set career highs. In his third year as Ole Miss’ quarterback, Dart has 2,384 yards, 14 touchdowns, three interceptions and 70.2% completion percentage.
9. Miller Moss, USC
Remember that first week when Miller Moss made people forget about Caleb Williams as USC’s quarterback? Well, we didn’t want to overreact then or now.
Moss has had his ups and downs, but is still a solid option for the Trojans. He’s just further down among this crop. He has 1,618 yards, 11 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 63.7% completion percentage.
10. Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
Here is a guy, not to invoke Cris Collinsworth, in Rourke that you might’ve not heard of. Indiana is a top-20 team and undefeated right now.
Rourke is a big reason why the Hoosiers are rolling under Curt Cignetti. This year, he has 1,752 yards, 14 touchdowns, two interceptions and a 73.8% completion percentage.
11. Kyle McCord, Syracuse
The revival of Kyle McCord at Syracuse has been something to watch. Basically, once the quarterback left Ohio State, he looked like a new man to start this season.
He’s led ‘Cuse to a 5-1 record at the halfway point and has the stats to back it up. He might set career highs but he’ll even approach well over 500 pass attempts at this rate. He has 2,160 yards, 19 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 65.6% completion percentage.
12. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Despite his wealth of experience, Gabriel is on the low end of the ESPN quarterback list. He’s picked it up in recent weeks though.
Piloting an undefeated Oregon team, Gabriel is under center of arguably the best team in the Big Ten after beating Ohio State. He has 1,790 yards, 13 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 76.1% completion percentage.
13. Will Howard, Ohio State
Will Howard was a promise to Ohio State that the QB play would take a step forward with Kyle McCord transferring to Syracuse. Ironically, McCord is higher on ESPN’s quarterback list for the draft.
Howard’s been good, make no mistake. But he hasn’t done anything eye-popping on the field. He has 1,574 yards, 14 touchdowns, three interceptions and a 73.3% completion percentage. Howard also has five rushing touchdowns.
After six quarterbacks went in the 2024 NFL Draft, in the first round no less, does that number get reached again in 2025?
