2025 NFL Draft first round trades shake up updated mock

The 2025 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and with all Pro Days officially in the books following Colorado‘s NFL Showcase last week, each of the NFL’s 32 teams are in the process of finalizing their draft boards. As are the many NFL Draft prognosticators.

NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter unveiled his latest mock up of how the first five rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft could play out, including projecting numerous first-round trades that could create some interesting dynamics later on in the draft. Reuter’s latest mock draft also includes some surprising landing spots for some of the top QBs in the draft, including both the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks apparently reaching to nab their next franchise quarterback.

Check out Chad Reuter’s updated five-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft 3.0 below:

1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Miami QB Cam Ward entered college football history on Saturday.

This pick appears all-but set in stone after the Titans reportedly canceled workouts with Colorado duo Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. Should the Titans hold onto the top pick as expected, Reuter believes Tennessee will officially move on from Will Levis as its starting QB and take Cam Ward at No. 1 overall.

Reuter cites Ward’s “leadership, arm strength and off-platformer playmaking ability” for why the Titans go all-in on Ward’s selection after sparking Miami’s NCAA-best offense with a FBS-leading 39 passing touchdowns and 4,313 yards on 67.2-percent passing in 2024.

2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

While the Browns will have serious interest in Shedeur Sanders at No. 2, Reuter believes Hunter’s uniqueness as a true two-way player will be too much for Cleveland to overlook and will instead fill its need at QB later in Round 3.

Reuter described Hunter as “a unicorn, capable of starting on both sides of the ball” after the reigning Heisman Trophy winner finished last season with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense and four interceptions, 11 passes defended and 36 total tackles on defense in 2024.

3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Despite signing veteran QBs Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, the Giants don’t hesitate at No. 3 and lock up their quarterback of the future in Sanders, who led the FBS with a 74-percent completion rate along with with 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024.

Brian Daboll all-but cemented New York’s interest in Sanders by breaking from his anti-Pro Day stance and attending last week’s Colorado NFL Showcase in Boulder, something he hasn’t done for any other player.

4. New England Patriots: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

New Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel won’t be able to pass up a generational talent like Abdul Carter as the New England representative races to the podium to select the former Penn State superstar at No. 4 overall.

Reuter acknowledged the Patriots’ defensive-heavy free agent haul, but the 6-foot-3, 250-pound Carter is a likely future All-Pro after leading the FBS with 23.5 tackles for loss while also adding 12 sacks in 2024.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

After failing to address the middle of its defensive front in free agency, Reuter expects the Jaguars to nab the draft’s best interior lineman without hesitation and shore up its dismal defense that ranked second-to-last in the NFL last season.

The powerful 6-foot-3, 320-pound Graham would pair nicely between former No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker and veteran pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen after racking up 52 tackles, 26 pressures, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks as the heart of the Wolverines’ defense in 2024.

6. Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

This might just be the second worst-kept secret of the draft behind the Titans interest in Ward, with most draft prognosticators believing new Raiders head coach Pete Carroll will target the second-coming of Marshawn Lynch and land the draft’s best RB at No. 6.

The powerful 5-foot-8, 210-pound Jeanty came within 30 yards of eclipsing Barry Sanders‘ 1988 NCAA single-season rushing record last season after leading the NCAA with 2,601 rushing yards, 29 touchdowns and 126 missed tackles in 2024.

7. New York Jets: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

With both Ward and Sanders off the board in the Top 3 picks, Reuter has the Jets doing what the Falcons did a year ago and spending a Top 10-pick on a young QB despite signing Justin Fields to a lucrative contract in free agency.

While it might come as a bit of a surprise to many, Dart certainly has the resume to warrant a Top 10 selection after ranking third nationally with 4,278 passing yards — including a FBS-leading 10.8 pass yards per attempt — and 29 touchdowns to six interceptions in 2024.

8. Carolina Panthers: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

While an elite pass rusher on defense remains a glaring need, Reuter believes Warren’s natural playmaking ability would be an immediate boost to the Panthers’ offense under third-year starting QB Bryce Young, who showed steady improvement last season.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Warren, winner of the John Mackey Award, would give Young a reliable option over the middle after leading the Big Ten with 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and 13 total touchdowns (including four rushing and one passing) in 2024.

9. New Orleans Saints: Jalon Walker, EDGE/LB, Georgia

With both Dart and Warren off the board, Reuter expects the Saints to instead look to shore up its defense after allowing nearly 380 yards per game last season. And the versatile Walker certainly fits the bill after winning the Butkus Award last season.

Despite disappearing at times, the 6-foot-2, 245-pound Walker tallied 62 tackles, a team-high 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries as the next great defensive playmaker to come out of Georgia under head coach Kirby Smart.

10. Chicago Bears: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

After allowing last year’s No. 1 overall pick in Caleb Williams to be sacked a NFL-worst 68 times in 2024, the Bears focus on protection and land the top offensive lineman in the draft at No. 10.

The massive 6-foot-4, 332-pound Membou has climbed draft boards everywhere after turning heads at the NFL Combine by posting the best broad jump (9-foot-7) and second-fastest 40-yard dash time (4.91 seconds) among all offensive linemen in Indianapolis.
