2025 NFL Draft: Mel Kiper updates Top 10 QB rankings after Week 14 of college football
The final week of the 2024 college football regular season has concluded, which means the 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner.
One of the biggest talking points in each year’s NFL Draft class centers around the quarterback position. Following an eventful Week 14, a handful of quarterbacks have proven to ESPN’s NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. that they may be ready to move on to the next level. Based on each QB’s performance over the last week of college football’s regular season, Kiper adjusted his top 10 rankings accordingly.
1. Shedeur Sanders – Colorado
Assuming Shedeur Sanders does not play in the Buffaloes’ bowl game, he finished his senior season with 3,926 yards passing on a 74.2% completion percentage to go with 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
He’s remained atop Kiper’s list for weeks, at it looks as though it will remain that way heading into the offseason. The first team that needs a quarterback — Sanders appears to be their man.
2. Cam Ward – Miami
Miami played itself out of the ACC Championship game on Saturday, falling to Syracuse after leading the Orange 21-0 to begin the game. However, it wasn’t from a lack of effort from Cam Ward.
Once again, he turned in a massive statistical performance having completed 26 of his 35 passing attempts for three touchdowns and an interception. His 33 rushing yards pushed him over 400 yards of production by himself during the afternoon.
3. Jalen Milroe – Alabama
Alabama appears to be in prime position to take one of the final spots in the College Football Playoff, and Jalen Milroe helped the Crimson Tide secure that position during an Iron Bowl victory over the Auburn Tigers during Week 14.
He passed for over 250 yards and rushed for over 100 more and three touchdowns. His 719 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground stands unrivaled by any other quarterback in the nation.
4. Carson Beck – Georgia
Carson Beck threw for five touchdowns and 297 yards during the Bulldogs’ eight overtime victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday. Most importantly, he hasn’t thrown an interception in three games since their loss to Ole Miss.
Since the loss, Beck has thrown for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns and has shown he can lead his team to victory under multiple circumstances.
5. Drew Allar – Penn State
Penn State rolled through Maryland 44-7 during Week 14. With that matchup well controlled throughout, Allar wasn’t called upon for a heroic performance. Still, he turned in a respectable performance and more importantly, clinched his team’s spot in the Big Ten Championship game.
A win over Oregon would be monumental for Allar and the Nittany Lions, and a strong postseason performance from him could go a long way in cementing himself as a top five quarterback in April’s NFL Draft.
6. Quinn Ewers – Texas
Quinn Ewers was banged up during Week 14 after injuring his ankle the previous week, but was still able to lead him team to victory and clinch the Longhorns’ spot in the SEC Championship matchup vs. Georgia.

His statistics won’t mirror what he did last season due to his injuries this season, but is a proven winner and has Texas in a position, for the second-straight year, that the Longhorns haven’t been in for well over a decade.
7. Garrett Nussmeier – LSU
Garrett Nussmeier has thrown for 869 yards and five touchdowns across LSU’s final three games of the regular season. His play helped the Tigers snap their three-game skid and win the final two games on LSU’s schedule to finish 8-4 overall and 5-3 in SEC play.
Nussmeier has one more opportunity in LSU’s bowl game to impress NFL scouts in a college uniform. Whether he can bump himself up on Kiper’s list remains to be seen.
8. Kurtis Rourke – Indiana
Kurtis Rourke played himself onto Kiper’s list this season, and based on how his Hoosiers are poised for a potential College Football Playoff run — it should come as no surprise he’s here. A 10,000-yard career passer, Rourke spent two seasons tearing up the MAC as Ohio‘s starting quarterback, and hasn’t skipped a beat after transferring to Bloomington.
On the season, he has 2,927 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions. Those statistics closely resemble the best season he had at Ohio, meaning the uptick in competiton has not hindered Rourke at all.
9. Jaxson Dart – Ole Miss
Jaxson Dart rewrote Ole Miss record books during his 2024 campaign. His 3,875 yards passing yards tops the SEC, his 84.7 QBR ranks fourth in the country and has a 25-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio this season.
Ole Miss’ College Football Playoff changes remain in the air as of this report, and so does Dart’s status in the Rebels’ bowl game.
10. Dillon Gabriel – Oregon
Dillon Gabriel hasn’t missed a step after his transfer to Oregon from Oklahoma this past offseason. He passed 3,000 yards passing on the season during the Ducks’ 16-13 win over Wisconsin in Week 13.
After beating Washington on Saturday, Gabriel now has something no other quarterback has on this list — a 12-0 record heading into the postseason.
