2025 NFL Draft: NFL.com releases 3-round mock featuring 7 QBs selected, surprising first round movement

Now that the 2024 NFL season is officially in the book following the Philadelphia Eagles‘ decisive 40-22 win over two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX from New Orleans, it’s time to look to the future.
And NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter didn’t waste time, unleashing an expansive three-round mock of the 2025 NFL Draft, where five first-round trades leads to four quarterbacks in the first 33 picks and seven total QBs through the first three rounds. That included the New York Jets, which recently decided to part ways with 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers, trading back into the bottom of Round 1 to select their next franchise QB.
Check out NFL.com’s full three-round mock of the 2025 NFL Draft according to Reuter below:
1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
![Cam Ward](https://on3static.com/uploads/dev/assets/cms/2024/12/31073513/Cam-Ward-1-1024x512.jpg)
NFL.com starts it off with a bang, as the Titans stay home at No. 1 and take their next franchise QB in Ward, despite new GM Mike Borgonzi suggesting the team would take a “generational talent” with the top overall pick. Ward is widely believed to be the crown jewel of the 2025 QB class after leading the FBS with 39 passing touchdowns last season while ranking second nationally with 4,313 passing yards.
Reuter: “All I know is that the Titans need a quarterback to get back to competing for a playoff spot. Ward’s five years of starting experience in college and ability to make plays in and outside the pocket give him a chance to replicate the success of 2024’s ‘experienced rookies’ Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix.”
2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Despite clear concerns at quarterback, Reuter doesn’t expect the Browns to go all-in on another reset at the position, instead selecting the reigning Heisman Trophy winner out of Colorado at No. 2 overall. While his best NFL position is debatable, Hunter’s talent on both sides of the ball is not after racking up 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense and four interceptions, 11 passes defended and 36 total tackles on defense in 2024.
Reuter: “The Browns pass on a quarterback at No. 2 to select a true two-way star in Hunter. I expect the Heisman Trophy winner to focus on offense at the next level because of his special ball skills and athleticism, both of which are lacking in the Browns’ wideout room.”
3. New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Reuter projects the QB-needy Giants hold pat and still land their next franchise QB in Sanders at No. 3 overall. Sanders remains a “polarizing” prospect among NFL personnel, but it’s hard to argue with his elite production in 2024, leading the FBS with a 74.0 completion percentage along with 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns on the year.
Reuter: “As the son of Coach Prime, Sanders has lived in the spotlight his entire life. So I don’t think the New York stage will be too big for him. That said, for the the Giants to maximize their new QB’s talents, they must improve the offensive line and find more playmakers to team with Malik Nabers.”
4. New England Patriots: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
![Penn State Nittany Lions defensive end Abdul Carter.](https://on3static.com/uploads/dev/assets/cms/2024/12/01084926/abdul-carter-penn-state-football-usa-today-on3-1024x538.jpg)
Given the QB-needy teams ahead of them, the Patriots hold firm and still luck into arguably the draft’s No. 1 player and a true difference-maker defensively. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Carter was dominant off the edge for Penn State, racking up 12 sacks, 61 pressures, a NCAA-best 23.5 tackles for loss and 68 total tackles in 2024.
Reuter: “Carter’s speed and relentless nature immediately improve one of the league’s worst pass rushes, while his experience as both a hand-down and off-ball defender gives new coach Mike Vrabel flexibility up front.”
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
The Jaguars had the NFL’s worst pass defense in 2024 and immediately address those issues with the 6-foot-2 Johnson at No. 5 overall. Despite missing the second half of the season with a turf-toe injury, Johnson is a proven playmaker at cornerback after racking up nine interceptions at Michigan, including his lone two INTs last season returned for touchdowns.
Reuter: “If healthy and able to prove he possesses the long speed to keep pace with NFL receivers, he has the height, length and ball skills to remind everyone why he was a blue-chip prospect entering the 2024 campaign.”
6. Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Reuter’s first big surprise comes at No. 6, where he projects the Raiders don’t reach for a quarterback and instead land the Broncos’ running back that came within less than 30 yards of eclipsing Barry Sanders‘ 1988 NCAA single-season rushing record last season. Jeanty capped his historic 2024 season with 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns as the Heisman runner-up.
Reuter: “Vegas missed having a bell-cow back this past year, and Jeanty’s combination of vision, balance, speed and power project for him to have a highly productive NFL career.”
7. New York Jets: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
![Mason Graham](https://on3static.com/uploads/dev/assets/cms/2024/12/10070301/Mason-Graham-1024x512.jpg)
While the Jets enter the 2025 offseason with more questions than answers, especially offensively, NFL.com projects they’ll focus on defense and take one of the safest picks around in Graham. The powerful 6-foot-3, 320-pound Graham is a plug-and-play prospect after tallying 52 tackles, 26 pressures, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks in 2024, including two sacks vs. Minnesota.
Reuter: “Graham’s strength and quickness allow him to play multiple spots on the line, while his relentless hustle can be taxing on offensive lines.”
8. Carolina Panthers: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
The Panthers don’t need a quarterback after the late-season emergence of sophomore Bryce Young, the former No. 1 overall pick in 2023, and instead take the talented Nolen out of Ole Miss. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Nolen was an imposing figure along the Rebels’ defensive front, finishing 2024 with a team-high 14 tackles for loss, 48 tackles, and 6.5 sacks.

Reuter: “Nolen’s explosiveness off the ball and ability to chase down plays make him a potential top-10 selection like Williams, and pairing him with Derrick Brown means trouble for opposing offensive lines.”
9. New Orleans Saints: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
The injury-riddled Saints struggled to move the ball with any consistency in 2024, something Warren proved quite effective at during the Nittany Lions’ run to the College Football Playoff. The 6-foot-6, 261-pound Warren led the Big Ten with 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and 13 total touchdowns, including one passing and four rushing.
Reuter: “With Juwan Johnson entering free agency and Foster Moreau in a contract year, the team could use a big man like Warren in the middle of the field to complement a healthy Chris Olave in 2025.”
10. Chicago Bears: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
![Will Campbell, LSU](https://on3static.com/uploads/dev/assets/cms/2024/08/15075620/Will-Campbell-LSU-1024x538.jpg)
After surrendering a NFL-worst 68 sacks last season, the Bears race to the podium to select arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft class in Campbell. The reliable 6-foot-6, 323-pound Campbell allowed just two sacks on 524 pass-block snaps in 2024 and could secure 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams’ blindside for years to come.
Reuter: “Chicago lands a legitimate starting left tackle to protect Caleb Williams and move defenders in the run game. He’ll be the best player they’ve had at that spot since … the 1983 NFL Draft.”
